Choi Woo-shik (Also spelled as Choi Woo-sik/ Woo-sik Choi) is a South Korean-Canadian actor and singer who gained international recognition for his role as ‘Yong-sik’ in the movie “Train to Busan” (2016). ) and ‘Kim Ki-woo’ in the movie “Parasite” (2019).

Choi Woo-shik was born on Monday, March 26, 1990 (age 30 years; as in 2020) in Seoul, South Korea. His zodiac sign is Aries. His English name is ‘Edward,’ and his friends and family affectionately call him ‘Eddie’. At the age of ten, when he was in the fifth grade, his family immigrated to Vancouver in Canada, and he attended Pinetree High School in Coquitlam, Canada. He attended Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Burnaby, Canada to pursue an arts degree. In 2011, at the age of 21, he dropped out of SFU and came to Korea to pursue acting. He majored in Cultural Studies from Chung-Ang University, Seoul, South Korea.

He made his acting debut with the MBC K-drama “The Duo” (2011) as the young ‘Gwi-dong’.
He appeared in supporting roles in many popular K-dramas including Living in Style (2011), Special Affairs Team TEN (2011), Rooftop Prince (2012), Special Affairs Team TEN Season 2 (2012), You Are My Destiny (2014) , and Pride and Prejudice (2014). He appeared for the first time in the lead role in the drama “Hogu’s Love” (2015) and appeared as the lead character in the dramas, My Fantastic Funeral (2017) and Fight for My Way (2017).

- When he was 10 years old, his family moved to Vancouver in Canada. During his early days in Vancouver, he was expelled from school, which left him less social. Speaking about it, he said,
One day, I brought rice and kimchi and my side dishes because I don’t know, and I just brought a bunch of food with me, and then they said, ‘Oh, what’s that smell? They were like, ‘Oh, it’s a new guy from Korea, but he smells.’ So they don’t come and talk to me.”
- In her high school, she had fourteen best friends, all Korean, who helped her become a sociable person. He calls his friend FF14 (Friend Forever 14). Speaking of them, he said,
They are really reliable. I can really talk about things with them.”
