“I finally felt the baby so I don’t have to text my doctor for the daily ultrasound drive anymore,” the cookbook author wrote on Twitter. She has also been showing off her growing baby bump on Instagram, giving her fans a glimpse into her life as a mum-to-be. Also mom to Luna, 6, and Miles, 4, Teigen and husband John Legend told their kids about the new baby early in the pregnancy.

Teigen recently told PEOPLE that her kids knew about the new baby from the beginning and were “so excited” about the new addition to the family. “Since we did IVF [in-vitro fertilization] we knew maybe nine days after we did the transfer that it was successful and we were pregnant. I told them very, very early,” he explained. “They knew that I was going in for the transplant, that we were going to go in and put this egg in Mommy’s stomach. So they know from the beginning, and they know there’s a chance it might not work because that’s happened before.”
Teigen added that because her kids have known about the baby for so long that the pregnancy probably feels like a long time to them. “They have been excited for a long time,” he said. “I think this will be the longest pregnancy for them because they know from that day.”

Teigen Discusses The Heartbreaking Decisions She Had To Make During Her 2020 Pregnancy
In August, the couple announced on Instagram that they were expecting a rainbow baby after suffering a tragic pregnancy loss nearly two years earlier. Teigen recently opened up about the decisions she faced during her 2020 pregnancy while speaking at Propper Daley’s “A Day of Unreasonable Conversation” summit last week. According to Entertainment Tonight, Teigen said, “Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Jack, John and my third child, I had to make a lot of difficult and heartbreaking decisions. It became very clear halfway through that he wasn’t going to survive, and I wasn’t going to survive either without some medical intervention.”
When talking about her devastating loss in the past, Teigen referred to it as a pregnancy loss, but on last week’s event, clarified that it was a life-saving abortion. “Let’s call it what it is: It’s an abortion. Abortion to save my life for a baby who has no chance at all,” he explained. “And to be honest, I never put it together until, actually, a few months ago.”
Teigen said she came to the realization shortly after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June. “I was speechless, feeling weird because I didn’t understand it that way,” he said. “I told the world we had a miscarriage, the world agreed we had a miscarriage, all the headlines said it was a miscarriage. And I got really upset because I didn’t, at first, say what it was, and I felt stupid that it took me over a year to really understand we had an abortion.”
