Christina Applegate’s days of gracing the red carpet are coming to an end.
The “Dead to Me” star walked one of her last carpets for the foreseeable future on Sunday, February 26.
The actress attended the SAG Awards with her daughter, Sadie, by her side.

Applegate uses a cane with “FU MS” emblazoned with rhinestones on it for help. The cane also featured his daughter’s name.
He was diagnosed with multiple-sclerosis in 2021.
Applegate stated the ceremony may be her “last awards show as an actress,” due to her failing health caused by MS.

He told Los Angeles Times this earlier this month adding, “It’s kind of a big deal.”
“Now, I can’t imagine getting up at 5 in the morning and spending 12 to 14 hours on a set; I don’t have that in me at the moment,” he admitted to the publication.
Applegate was nominated for “Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Comedy Series. She lost the SAG Award to Jean Smart for her role in “Hacks.”

Applegate cheered loudly and happily threw her hands in the air when Smart was announced as the winner.
She wore a black velvet tuxedo dress, red lipstick and her hair was wavy.
Applegate has put physical acting on the back burner, but says she is pursuing voiceover work.
“Doing a lot of voices to make a little money to make sure my daughter eats and we get home,” he joked sarcastically.
Appearing on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in December, Applegate said she uses humor to cope with her MS.

A bare-faced Kelly Clarkson asked Applegate, “Are you a naturally optimistic person when you’re sick or when you’re fighting something, because I love humor, and really dark humor. I don’t know how you deal with things.”
The “Sweetest Thing” actress replied, “Yeah, my humor shield makes me ok. Um, but of course on the inside you feel that and I do it to deflect a little bit and make people not afraid to be around me.”
Applegate walks with a cane because of her MS, and she explained that people now see her as “disabled.”
“I want them to feel comfortable that we can laugh about it,” he continued. “I have a song I wrote called, ‘Disaby Baby, hurry down the chimney tonight. I can’t have my wheelchair not fit on it.’”
Clarkson loved the dark humor of Applegate’s holiday jingle; however, he became serious about being diagnosed and living with MS.
“Honestly, being diagnosed with MS last year and what happened to my body, to my mind, to my spirit, to everything… of course I didn’t want to be around anyone or talk about it. But, I had to go through work. I wasn’t forced to work, but I made sure we finished the show,” he said.
The show Applegate is referring to is the third season of “Dead to Me” on Netflix starring Linda Cardellini and James Marsden.

“I tried as hard as I could through it and it was really, really hard, and I slept for months. Then all of a sudden I had to come out again and be this person who, you know, people have seen me as this person for almost 40 years and I’m different now,” Applegate explained. “I don’t want to be a fish in a fish tank, but you know, I’ll do my best just to get through.”
Applegate showed off her funny side during her Walk of Fame ceremony. She chose to take a shoeless stance and made sure to show it off.
“You’re going to change that disabled woman,” he joked before adding, “Oh, I have a disease. Don’t you notice? I’m not even wearing shoes. Anywho, you should laugh at that.”
