Christy Carlson Romano Reveals Why Her Disney Channel Era Worked So Well!

Christy Carlson Romano knows her Disney Channel era has some magic that’s hard to replicate, but she’s trying her best!

Romano, 34, was a Disney Channel staple during the early days. She rose to fame as the bookish sister of Ren Stephens, with Louis Shia LeBeouf’s bravado in “Even Stephens” and provided the voice of the generation’s favorite female superhero Kim Possible in the show of the same name!

The Romano era on the Disney Channel made stars of Hilary Duff (“Lizzie McGuire”) and Raven Symone of “That’s So Raven” fame, and like her famous contemporaries, Romano has no problem or qualms about revisiting her past.

The entertainer has made quite a name for himself over the past few years on social media. Romano is fully embracing his Disney Channel days on the grid, fully leaning in and committed to highlighting the aspects that made his era on the network so special!

Having his own podcast wasn’t enough for Romano; she and her husband, Brendan Rooney, are launching a network for podcasts, called PodCo!

The two recently discussed their new career endeavors with People’s Magazinetouch on their inspiration behind launching the network in a time when the market for nostalgia-oriented podcasts is solid and thriving.

After “understanding the landscape” of nostalgic appeal through the couple’s various nostalgia-themed projects, Romano told the outlet, “I was like, ‘I think we should just launch our own line, which will eventually be more than a line, we’ll have a lot of stuff on indoors, but let’s start with some of these things [podcasts] that’s really strong.”

Romano Believes There’s A Specific Reason Why Listeners Keep Returning To Old Disney Channel Shows

Romano, who has also featured many of his Disney Channel peers in his YouTube content, has an idea why his Disney Channel days are still so interesting some 20 years later! The special ‘potion’ of its era is also the inspiration behind PodCo.

“It’s actually really the old Hollywood synergy model,” Romano continued to People, “It’s something that I think another thing about nostalgia is when we think about Disney Channel or Nickelodeon back in the ‘golden age’ quote, everybody jumps. at everyone’s TV show. Everyone’s doing DCOMs [Disney Channel Original Movie] together. There’s a synergy that Disney, in general, has as one of their mission statements that we’re told,” he continued in detail, “that it comes from the top down. So we’re really just promoting that synergistic idea with PodCo,” he explained.
