Disgraced rape victim actor Danny Masterson has slammed the Church of Scientology in a court filing, claiming the organization is trying to “derail” the trial by waging a “campaign of harassment and intimidation.”
The court filing, made last December, alleges that the church specifically targeted prosecutors in the case, smashed their car windows, and “jammed” their home electronics. The organization has reportedly denied any wrongdoing.

According to a recent court filing, the “That ’70s Show” star’s rape victim accused her church, The Church of Scientology, of harassing and intimidating one of the prosecutors in the trial.
Court documents, obtained by L.A. Timesstate that “windows of the plaintiff’s home and car were broken, the plaintiff’s home electronics were tampered with, and the Defendant’s agent surveilled the prosecutor.”
Masterson is currently serving a 30-year sentence for rape after being sentenced by a Los Angeles court last year.
Shortly after his sentencing, his wife, Bijou Phillips, filed for divorce. The actor’s church also distanced itself from Masterson, labeling him an “oppressive person.”

The Church of Scientology Was Previously Accused of Interfering in Danny Masterson’s Trial

Prior to the recent accusations, the Church of Scientology was accused of attempting to interfere with Masterson’s trial.
According to L.A. Timeslast year, LA County Deputy District Attorney Reinhold Mueller recalled experiencing a troubling incident similar to the one detailed in a court filing during his acceptance speech.
Mueller claimed that his home had been trashed and that he had been “run off the street.” The deputy added that his internet and cell service were mysteriously down.
Mueller also said that LAPD detectives in the case were “under surveillance.” Although the deputy did not directly blame the Church of Scientology during his speech, law enforcement sources said The Times that he accused the church of being behind the strange incident.

The Church of Scientology Denies the Allegation

A spokesperson for the organization denied the scathing allegations in a shared statement L.A. Times.
Karin Pouw claims that the allegations are false and there is no evidence that the church was involved in any disturbing incidents.
He said, “Allegations that the Church harassed or intimidated witnesses, prosecutors, or law enforcement officials are false.”
Pouw added, “There is zero evidence to support these scandalous allegations – indeed, all available evidence points to the Church having nothing to do with the alleged actions.”
According to Pouw, an “anti-Scientology bias” was evident during Masterson’s entire trial. He claimed Mueller was “biased” against the church and that a judge interpreted the church’s theology in a way that was “unconstitutional.”

Immediately after Masterson was sentenced to prison, the church of Scientology reportedly expelled him and labeled him an “oppressive person.”
The Church defines an “oppressive person” or “SP” as someone whose behavior hinders the spiritual growth of those around them.
The tag on the actor meant other church members, including his estranged wife, Bijou Phillips, had to cut ties with him.
Private investigator Jeffrey Augustine revealed Masterson’s status as an “oppressive person” on his website, Scientology Money Project. The project has been on a mission to expose alleged church misconduct since 2014.

Why Is Danny Masterson Branded ‘The Oppressor’?
MEGA
In chat with Daily MailAugustine, a former member of Scientology, explained why the church decided to expel Masterson despite showing support for the actor through his court hearing.
Augustine claimed that the church had no plans to go public about Masterson’s “oppressive person” status and still told members that the actor was innocent.
He said, “According to my source, Danny has been declared an oppressor, which means he will be expelled from Scientology. They told Scientologists that he will file an appeal and that he is innocent of the charges he has been convicted of.”
“They (church officials) declared Danny an oppressor for not maintaining high ethical standards for the Church of Scientology, and other reasons – but not because he was convicted of rape,” Augustine added.
One of Masterson’s alleged victims, Chrissie Carnell Bixler, whose case against the actor found a deadlocked jury, Bixler told the news outlet, “They should have declared him SP when [she] originally went to them.”
