Suite Fantasy Week on “The Bachelor” has certainly caused conversation among Bachelor Nation.
Zach Shallcrosss decided to make a “no sex” rule into the Fantasy Suite in an effort to focus more on the emotional side of the relationship than the physical, especially with a potential engagement a week away.
However, things don’t go as planned as Shallcross breaks his own rules, after admitting to sleeping with Gabi Elnicki. Not only did he break his own rules, he then went for a “kiss and tell” as he opened up to host Jesse Palmer and another contestant, Kaity Biggar.
Former “Bachelor” host Clayton Echard asked fans to give Zach Shallcross “a little grace.”

Former “Bachelor” host Clayton Echard took to Instagram after the controversial episode aired, supporting Shallcross and asking fans to give him some forgiveness.
“Does Zach do things perfectly? Nope. None of us ever get it right, hardly ever. There are time after time when many of us have failed in that process. But give him some grace. That’s all I ask,” he said on Instagram Stories.
Zach Shallcross informs women of his “no sex” rule after they read the Suite Fantasy date card out loud, meaning they know the rule before spending the night.
“He tried his best. Is he doing things the right way? No,” said Echard on social media. “I mean, not at all. It’s easy to look at that and say, ‘Why did you do that?’ But then again, we don’t know what always happens. And it’s too hard to say, ‘This is what you should do.’ It’s easy when you say it while sitting and watching it on TV. It’s another matter when emotions are involved.”
“That’s the way it is, and we can all relate to it,” he explained. “It is very easy to be rational when there is no emotional attachment. When you get an emotional bond, things aren’t cut and dry, and that’s what we’re seeing.”

Shallcross kept his rules during his first one-night stand with Ariel Frenkel, but ended up breaking them during his second one-night stand with Gabi Elnicki. Not only did Shallcross go and tell host Jesse Palmer about having sex with Elnicki, but he also told one of the other women he was dating, Kaity Biggar.
As for whether Shallcross approached the situation correctly, Echard said there was a “danger” in waiting to have that conversation until after the engagement.
“You get engaged and then all of a sudden you say, ‘Hey, I have to tell you something off camera.’ They can either say, ‘Hi, thank you so much for telling me this. I appreciate you not saying this on national television,’ or they can say the opposite, which is, ‘Why didn’t you tell me this earlier? If you had told me this, I would have made a different decision and in the end I wouldn’t be here,” he explained on social media.
“[The woman might say]’For something as big as an engagement, I wish you’d told me this because it would affect my ability to make a decision’,” he continued.
