Clayton Echard’s New Book Focuses On Mental Health Struggles

Since becoming the lead on “The Bachelor,” Clayton Echard has faced backlash and hate from fans for the way he handled things on the show.

After his season ended, the 29-year-old opened up about the struggles he faced, including experiencing suicidal thoughts.

Now, Echard has released a new book, talking about the mental health struggles she’s faced since her childhood and how it played into her time on reality television.

Clayton Echard, 29, took to Instagram to share the exciting news — the publication of his new book!

“8 months later and I officially have a book to share with you all!!,” she wrote on social media alongside a photo of herself holding her new book. “I wrote 180 Degrees partly for myself, because it was therapy to document my mental health journey from childhood to now. It’s been a long time coming for me to deal with all the jumbled thoughts in my head and begin to sort them out bit by bit. “

“I also created it in hopes of helping others find their own self-love, self-confidence, confidence to open up and start having the necessary conversations centered around mental health, and most importantly… a sense of peace that they are not alone,” she keep sharing.

Echard’s time on the ABC reality show has not been easy, as he admits to making a lot of mistakes and handling things poorly. The former “Bachelor” host also spoke out, saying that his now ex-girlfriend, Susie Evans, was the only person keeping him from “going off the rails”. He leaned on her when he needed someone, and that ultimately saved him.

“We all face our own struggles, but I believe we have the best chance of overcoming them when we look to others to help us when we can’t do it alone. I hope that through the stories I share in this book, you may see that there is a brighter path ahead and it is waiting for you to walk through it,” Echard continued to write on Instagram when announcing his new book. “That is, when you are ready to do so…”

To help others manage their mental health issues, the 29-year-old says for every copy of his book sold, he will donate 50% of the proceeds to mental health organisations.
