Clyde Drexler was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 22, 1962. His mother’s name is Eunice Scott, and he has three siblings: an older brother and two younger sisters named James, Denise, and Virginia. His family later moved to Houston, Texas, to South Park. His family owns Drexler’s World Famous BBQ & Grill, which is now managed by his other siblings.
He went to Ross Sterling High School, where he was classmates with tennis player Zina Garrison. He was a baseball player at the time, and he tried basketball but was unsuccessful. He later attended the University of Houston, where college coaches recognized his talent. His friend Michael Young introduced him to New Mexico State University, Texas Tech University, and the University of Houston, where he and his friend were hired as basketball players. Clyde Drexler began his career with Young when they were both in college. They play for school teams as well as other teams outside of school.
