Coldplay are heading to new levels for their legal battle with their former manager Dave Holmes!

The split occurred after the plaintiff served as the band’s manager for 22 years, nearly the band’s entire musical career. In his absence, Holmes’ former colleagues Phil Harvey, Mandi Frost, and Arlene Moon continued to oversee the team’s activities.
A representative of the British group declined to elaborate further on the case. However, other sources claim the legal battle is over a “contractual dispute.” Further information has not been obtained as the details of the claim are confidential.
Holmes’ beef with the “Viva La Vida” singer came more than a decade after the plaintiff began working for the group. The four members of Coldplay met as students at University College London and began pursuing their dreams in 1997.
In a 2018 interview ahead of the release of Coldplay’s documentary “Headful of Dreams,” Holmes opened up about predicting the band’s success. The former manager recalled when he gave his mother a copy of “Parachute” in 2000, raving:
“I told him, ‘I just started working with this band, and they’re going to be as big as U2.’ I know it. I just found out.”
Coldplay’s upcoming court battle is an unfortunate turn of events, given their recent success. After their amazing summer 2023 tour, which ended with an unforgettable show in Amsterdam, Coldplay announced their plans for another amazing set.
Last month, the creators of “Something Just Like This” revealed that they will be touring Europe again from June to August 2024. For the first time, the group will bring their mesmerizing performances to Finland, Greece and Romania.

The European set is expected to conclude with closing shows in Dublin, Vienna, and Munich by August. Regarding tickets for the 2024 tour, sales start at 10am local time on Friday, July 28.

Fans Have Mixed Reactions To Coldplay’s Plans To Stop Producing New Music By 2025
Before Holmes sued the “Hymn for the Weekend” musicians over an alleged “contractual dispute,” the band broke millions of hearts with their future plans. In 2021, the band’s frontman, Martin, revealed that Coldplay would stop creating new music by 2025.
According to the lead vocalist, the team may no longer drop songs that charted according to the featured date. However, the 46-year-old said the group’s career is far from over as they will focus on holding more concerts.
“Well, I know I can tell you, our last proper record is coming out in 2025, and after that, I think we’ll just be touring. Maybe we’ll do some things collaboratively, but Coldplay’s catalog, as it were, ended at that time,” admitted the England heartthrob.
Martin’s revelations about Coldplay’s recording efforts come months after the band released their ninth studio album, “Music of the Spheres.” The project features collaborations with A-listers such as South Korean boy band BTS, Selena Gomez, Jacob Collier and We Are King.
