Cole Sprouse On Lili Reinhart Relationship: ‘Had I Loved Myself More, I Would’ve Left A Bit Earlier’

Cole Sprouse admits he’s a people pleaser.

During a sit-down interview with Alex Cooper on this week’s episode of “Call Her Daddy,” the former Disney Channel star opened up about her past relationships, losing her virginity and the lessons she learned after breaking up with Lili Reinhart.

The couple met on the set of the movie “Riverdale” in 2017, but they wouldn’t go public until 2018 at the Met Gala.

They dated continuously until officially breaking up in 2020.

However, before Reinhart there were some “older girls” he met on a family vacation in Florida who would introduce him to his sexual identity.

“You want to hear how I lost my virginity? This is a great story. I think it says a lot about me. Um, I was 14 when I lost my virginity. So, this is still the era of bull-cut. I was on a family trip in Florida and um, I met this older girl, so that was already questionable. The first night we made out quite a bit,” he said.

Sprouse knows by heart how creepy the entire encounter, interaction and story is.

“It was very scary, it made me nervous. We were at the beach and I like to knock on his hotel door, he came out and we went down to the beach. We are in the chaise lounge. I looked at him and my heart was pounding, and I finally gathered enough courage to speak the words that my brother would never, ever let me live. I looked at him and said, ‘So, uh, are you like DTF?’ and he goes, ‘What?'”

He proceeded to explain to her what ‘DTF’ meant, “Down To F**k.”

Sprouse admitted he lasted about “20 seconds and never spoke to her again.”

“After that I really became a serial monogamist. A serial monogamist. I went from long-term relationship to long-term relationship,” said the 30-year-old.

Despite his overnight fame as an adult actor on “Riverdale,” Sprouse says he’s never been a “one night stand” guy.

However, he said he has been cheated on by “almost every single one of my girlfriends.”

The “Six-feet Apart” actor says it was mostly emotional cheating that happened, but his first girlfriend physically cheated on him.

He learned about emotional cheating through text messages.

“I have come to terms with my own inability to be emotionally vulnerable from time to time. I really don’t blame any of my partners for anything that has happened. Ever, ever, ever. I think it takes two to tango in every relationship you’re in,” Sprouse explained.

Cooper then asked, “If all your exes were in this room right now, what would they say about you?”

Without missing a beat, she admitted saying, “Maybe most of my relationships have a stronger sexual foundation than an emotional foundation.”

Of course, this brings Cooper to the topic of Sprouse dating his “Riverdale” co-star, Reinhart.

Much Damage Has Been Done, But Now They Are Friends

When asked about navigating their breakup, she explained that it was very difficult to navigate since they were still colleagues.

“I think the work thing gets difficult, because it’s hard to put all our feelings on hold for each other, and it doesn’t give us the luxury of distance to really work through it. Um, I know we both did a little damage to each other,” Sprouse said. “We are good friends now. We work well together now.”

He continues to express his feelings about the relationship and how they can both lean on each other.

“I think we did our best. Really, I do. I’m very grateful in many ways that I got to go through it with someone who went through the same thing as me, but also in many ways, the cliché about dating someone you work with is true,” she previously said, adding, “If only I loved myself a little more, I’ll leave a little earlier.”

Sprouse added the split was a mutual decision; however, he was the one who initiated the breakup.

“I go. I did, yes, I went. But, honestly… when you’re in a relationship for a long time and someone leaves, it’s not like someone’s like, ‘WHAT?!?’ It’s not a surprise,” explained Sprouse.
