Colleen Ballinger Under Fire For A Fan’s Upsetting Account Of Concert Experience

YouTube sensation Colleen Ballinger has reportedly lost her sponsorship and is facing allegations of injuring fans after a stage stunt.

The 36-year-old YouTuber’s success story is best known for her unique character Miranda Sings.

In addition to creating YouTube videos, Ballinger has written a book, starred in a Netflix show and toured behind the goofball girl who caters to children for over a decade.

Miranda’s ‘Stick’ revolves around her hilarious naivety. However, a recent fan encounter that took place on stage during a Miranda Sings show reportedly resulted in some not-so-naive allegations.

The Miranda Sings star has come under fire for inappropriate behavior involving fans before.

Three years ago, a teenage fan recounted his personal experience with Ballinger in a YouTube video. Adam McIntyre, who was 17 at the time, recalled his professional involvement with Ballinger and the story in which he claimed Ballinger had sent him underwear in the mail. Ballinger later confirmed the story, but according to Insider, he clarified some of McIntyre’s professional claims were not entirely accurate.

Ballinger addressed the situation in a YouTube video.

“Someone made a video saying a lot of shocking and hurtful things about me, and a lot of you wanted me to address it and I didn’t,” Ballinger began the portion of the video addressing the situation. “

“I was very shocked and confused, I said I didn’t know what they were talking about, and I also expressed disappointment that they tried to bring my son’s name into their play,” Ballinger continued.

He remembers his mother texting him and asking Ballinger to stop communicating with her young son, but the YouTuber felt the need to speak out about the situation after more “rumors and speculation” began to surface.

“I have a ‘receipt’ that proves what I’m about to tell you, however, I don’t feel comfortable sharing it because he’s a minor,” Ballinger continued. He went on to tell the camera he was going to share information that was shared between adults and details that had been made public.

Ballinger insisted that he understood how McIntyre’s allegations about the YouTube star sending him underwear would be disturbing without additional context, and claimed he would have felt the same way.

She went on to recall a past live stream giveaway where she gave away clothes that were “unused, tags still on, brand new which [she] I just bought it but I don’t want it.”

Ballinger went on to share “one of the things in this box was a really ugly pair of underwear. As soon as I pulled them out, Korey [DeSoto] and I started laughing and joking about how ugly they were, ‘why did I buy these ridiculous panties, they’re so stupid’, before showing the footage as proof.

He then told the audience how the live streamer started asking for underwear, and explained how McIntyre reportedly asked for the underwear later. Ballinger claimed he had been ‘in on’ the joke and recalled how it became an inside joke in his fandom.

“I didn’t know what part of my brain was missing at the time, that I thought ‘Oh, this is a normal, stupid thing to do.’ I should have realized and realized how stupid that was, and never sent it to him no matter how much he asked…” Ballinger continued.

McIntyre recently posted another YouTube video following up on the three-year-old situation and other fans’ allegations of inappropriate behavior.

A clip of year-old Ballinger, dressed as Miranda, recently made the rounds and quickly went viral after the young girl responded with her account.

According to TMZ, the sponsors who were previously affiliated with Ballinger’s podcast are reportedly pulling their partnership. One company called the behavior depicted in the original video “appalling,” and subsequently reported that they had stopped running their ads on Ballinger’s podcast.

As of this writing, Ballinger has not spoken about the video or addressed the sponsorship that ended their partnership.
