Colton Underwood Out
MEGA
In 2021, just a few years after he became the lead of “The Bachelor,” Colton Underwood made national headlines after he came out in an interview with Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America.”
“I have been running away from myself for a long time. I hated myself for a long time,” Underwood told Roberts. “And I’m gay. And I received it earlier this year and have processed it. And the next step in all of this is to tell people.”
“I’m still nervous, but yes,” he continued. “It’s been a journey for sure.”
Underwood went on to say he went through “dark and bad” times, even saying he’d “better be dead” than saying he’s gay. However, this is a wake-up call for the former “Bachelor” lead.
“There was a moment in LA when I woke up and I didn’t think I would wake up. I had no intention of getting up. And I did,” he said before admitting that “suicidal thoughts” led him to “take back control” of his life.
Colton Underwood and Jordan C. Brown started dating shortly after he announced he was gay, and the two got engaged in February 2022.
