An “extremely confused” elderly driver was captured in a now-viral video going the wrong way on a busy Massachusetts highway – avoiding multiple crashes in Sunday night’s blizzard.
Miraculously, no one was injured during the ordeal and when the 76-year-old finally stopped his car, he told authorities he “didn’t know where he was.”
The man drove a 2015 Toyota Corolla for several miles and had several near misses with the driver taking the right of way on Interstate-93 in Boston, according to footage posted online and reports.
The driver only stopped when a state highway snowplow truck was parked near the exit to prevent the Corolla from rolling any further, police told Boston 25.
Before that, the unidentified driver casually cruised southbound in the left northbound lane as other cars zipped by, some honking, according to footage posted on Instagram.

About ten 911 calls flooded in to report erratic drivers, police told Masslive.com.
When state police spoke to the driver, the man, from the town of Lynn, “was very disoriented and stated that he did not know where he was,” officials told Boston 25.
Police determined he was dealing with an underlying medical condition and was not impaired.

The elderly man’s car was towed to a police barracks in South Boston and the man was picked up by a friend.
“Soldiers spoke to the man’s friend about his surgery being uncertain due to his medical condition,” police said, according to the television station.
“A Trooper cited the man for driving the wrong way and issued an immediate threat notice with the RMV to have his license suspended.”
