A construction worker was killed on Saturday while setting up the inaugural Las Vegas Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The man suffered a “major neck injury” while working at the Bellagio Fountains site on the Las Vegas Strip around 11:30 a.m., according to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department.
The injured worker was rushed to an area hospital, where he later died.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the workplace tragedy.
No other details were immediately available.
The worker likely helped build MGM Resorts International’s grandstand for VIP race viewing at Lake Bellagio, where the famous fountain is located.
The 3.8-mile Vegas Grand Prix circuit will wind through downtown Sin City in November.
