Vanessa M McDonald, Corey Raymond’s wife, can live separately from him. The couple has never published any photos of themselves together on social media. Corey Raymond was fired by the University of Florida in November after two years on the job. Since then, some LSU supporters have called for the longtime fan favorite coach to return to his previous job.
News of Corey’s comeback has gained further attention after LSU coach Brian Kelly fired four defensive coaches, including defensive coordinator Matt House. However, it was also under Brian Kelly that Corey left for UF. Raymond has been tight-lipped about his return and hasn’t made any posts suggesting he could return to LSU. The Tigers won the ReliaQuest Bowl against Wisconsin, despite their defense struggling all season. So, is Corey Raymond going to fix it again?
Is Coach Corey Raymond Married?
Vanessa M McDonald, wife of Corey Raymond, may have split with the football coach years ago. Raymond had previously uploaded a family photo on Instagram, but it did not feature Vanessa. The picture is of him and his three children. She acknowledged that her second child, Ariel, was missing but said nothing about her partner. Vanessa’s Instagram username is a secret, but her Facebook page has no photos of her or Corey.
Previously, Corey and Vanessa’s youngest son, Chris Raymond, posted a photo of himself and his mother on Mother’s Day in 2019. He captioned the photo, “My First Love.” Chris was born on May 31, 1997, and played football at McNeese State University. He graduated from University Lab and played wide receiver. Chris’ playing time at McNeese was brief, and he did not see any action.
Cody’s eldest son Raymond, Corey and Vanessa have an Instagram account, but he keeps it a secret. However, it seems that he may be active in football. The football coach also has two children, Ariel and Madison. She had previously published a photo of Madison, her youngest child, referring to her as her favourite. Madison turned 16 last year and attends Clifton High School.
Is Corey Raymond Back at LSU?
Ever since Brian Kelly fired four defensive coaches, no one has stopped speculating about Corey Raymond’s return to his former employer. Kelly stated in a statement released by LSU that defensive coordinator Matt House and three other defensive coaches, Robert Steeples, Kerry Cooks and Jimmy Lindsey, will not be retained for the 2024 season. This seems like the right time for Raymond to return to his old place after being fired by Florida in November. He was hired by the Gators after the 2021 season and has spent the past two seasons as the team’s defensive backs coach.
In a previous interview with The Athletic, Corey said that his choice to attend Florida was the best choice he could have made. But Raymond couldn’t bring the magic he had built at LSU to UF. He was fired along with Sean Spencer, co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach. However, with the departure of Robert Steeples, Ryamond may return to his former role at LSU. Many LSU fans want Corey to return to LSU, where he spent so many years and helped create so many outstanding athletes.
Last month, the YouTube channel After Further Review: LSU advocated for Raymond to return to LSU, citing the fact that LSU was known as DBU under Corey’s leadership. Under Corey, LSU produced seven first team All-Americans. That list includes Eric Reid, Jalen Mills, Jamal Adams, Tre’Davious White, Greedy Williams, Grant Delpit, and Derek Stingley Jr. For most people, Corey Raymond’s comeback is a no-brainer and should be resolved immediately. One fan also said, “I need LSU to announce Corey Raymond is back more than I need to breathe.”
