A Tennessee couple says they caught a home invader in the shower after the cleaner kicked in their door while they were out for dinner.
The Nardi family was out enjoying a date night when they were alerted that there was movement in their house at around 7pm last Saturday, according to WIS 10.
At first, they thought the notification was one of their dogs turning off the sensor, and thought nothing of it.
But, what they saw next, shocked them and prompted them to dial 911 in a panic.
The couple saw a man kick in their front door and start rummaging through their house — making himself at home.
To make matters worse, the stranger then hops into their bathroom to take a shower.

“Our fur baby is there. There is a man in our house whom we do not know. We just need to go home,” said Kerigan Nardi to the outlet.
The southeast Nashville couple immediately called police.
When law enforcement arrived moments later, they found the man hanging out in the couple’s living room, wearing only a towel.

“He was naked, sitting on our sofa,” explained Nardi.
“You don’t just run over people like that. It doesn’t matter what type of psychosis you are dealing with. It doesn’t matter what kind of medicine you use. You don’t break into people’s homes and run over them like that.”
The suspect, Samuel Smith, was immediately arrested by the police.

Smith was charged with aggravated criminal trespass and drug possession, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the store.
The Nardis explained the cleanup following the terrifying incident was challenging.
“When he took a shower, at my house, he left behind some faeces. Yeah, he decided that would be a nice gift for the homeowner, I guess,” Nardi told the outlet.

The couple explained that they needed to disinfect their room, throw away the towels the man used, and bleach their shower.
Even though the janitor was in custody, they were still surprised by how easily he got into their house.
The couple has since installed a deadbolt lock and has put a barricade on their front door into position when they go out, according to the outlet.
They also said they plan to get another camera and advise their neighbors to do the same.
“I think people should just get a camera, and be careful because you never know,” Nardi said.
