‘Crocodile Dundee’ Paul Hogan In Good Spirits Months After Health Scare That Left Him ‘Feeble’

Paul Hogan’s health may no longer be at its best, but he’s still turning 84!

The Australian actor is back in the spotlight after a recent health scare that worried fans when he claimed he was “held together by strings.” Fortunately, the Hollywood veteran seems to be on the mend in his latest appearance, looking much better than his previous poor appearance.

Paul Hogan Steps Out To Support Friend After ‘Retroperitoneal Fibrosis’ Battle

The “Crocodile Dundee” star was recently spotted at an event in Australia hosted by his friend, former Hawke government minister John Joseph Brown. The TV personality was present to support the launch of the retired politician’s autobiography: “Brownie: The Minister for Good Times.”

The two were seen sitting next to each other, with Hogan looking excited as the pair spoke. The image, shared on X by journalist Kenny Heatley, captures the friends rocking similar black-and-white ensembles while lost in their own world. Australia’s Sky News anchor gave a touching caption picture:

“Legendary Australian actor Paul Hogan in Sydney sat down here with former 1980s Bob Hawke Minister John ‘JJ’ Brown for the launch of John’s autobiography. The pair are responsible for the greatest tourism campaign in Australian history.”

As noted, the sighting of the “Lightning Jack” actor came a few weeks after his deal with his poor health in a candid interview. A clip of the 84-year-old’s appearance on the TV show “A Current Affair” was shared on the program’s X page in November.

In his conversation, the 84-year-old talked about dealing with “retroperitoneal fibrosis” and how the health struggle made him feel terrible. “I’m not where I should be, but I’m not allowed to complain about anything,” lamented the entertainer, adding:

“[I’ve] become better. I have a problem with the aorta in the kidney, and the treatment has fixed it, but it shrinks me. I have lost all my body fat.”

The recipient of the Australian of the Year award explained that his condition, called retroperitoneal fibrosis, is a harmless growth. In his case, the tumor surrounded his abdominal aorta, causing it to press on his kidney. Fortunately, he managed to treat the disease, but the side effects were more than Hogan bargained for.

“The healing was worse than the disease,” said the Parramatta native, “The muscles were all cramping up. … It makes me weak.” The Australian icon, who has a pacemaker, described himself as “held together by strings” and needed his 24-year-old son to open the jar for him.

Additionally, the father of six, who has spent most of his life in the US, said he hopes to return permanently to Australia. Reflecting on her iconic life and career, the “Almost an Angel” executive producer said:

“I have had such a gifted life. I’ve had so many wonderful things happen to me that I didn’t deserve, so I shouldn’t complain, but, yes, ideally, I’d rather go back to Sydney because I miss all my family there.”

Paul Hogan Once Admitted He Was ‘Not a Great Husband’

Years before his health problems, the “Charlie & Boots” actor had participated in his failed marriage. The TV personality reflected on her broken union ahead of her 80th birthday in 2019, telling “Australian Stories” viewers that she wasn’t the best partner.

In part one of a two-part series, Hogan recalls meeting his first wife, Nolene Edwards. The Australian icon walked down the aisle for the first time at the age of 19 and welcomed three sons with her partner before turning 22.

“I kind of dig it, I love it. And we grew up together, me and my kids,” admitted the Logie Award winner. However, their growing family fell apart in 1981 after she and Edwards had welcomed five children together.

Surprisingly, the couple reconciled less than a year later and said their second vows. But their love didn’t stand the test of time, with the couple calling it quits in 1990. This time, their divorce was caused by Hogan’s love for “Crocodile Dundee” co-star Linda Kozlowski.

The betrayal did not sit well with Edwards, who did not speak to her ex-husband for 16 years after their split. The Golden Globe Award winner eventually moved in with Kolwozski, marrying him in 1990, and the two welcomed a son.

Hogan and Kolwozski ended their romance in 2014. Looking back on his failed romance, the veteran actor admitted that he wasn’t the best partner, saying, “I’m not a great husband. I’m good early.”
