Davis told Page Six on Tuesday that Jamie Spears “wasn’t an active, involved father” just a few years before he became his daughter’s conservator. “I rarely see her father, maybe once or twice, but I can tell that she and her father don’t have the best relationship,” Davis told the outlet.

“He stayed away from it [Jamie] mostly – that’s why I was surprised when I found out father had stepped in [with the conservatorship],” Davis said. “I was like, ‘That’s not the best relationship.’ He is close to his mother, but I don’t see his closeness to his father. That’s not there.”

Davis also revealed that Britney’s conservator may have prevented the 2002 film “Crossroads” from being re-released, despite requests from fans. “I tried to contact him that day because people would ask me – like when he was in conservatorship – if I could do this interview and I was told not to,” he said.

“I was told Britney didn’t want people talking about her and ‘please don’t do any interviews,’ so I didn’t. I don’t know to this day whether he really told me not to say anything or his father told me not to say anything,” he continued.

Davis recalls the “grace” in which the “Toxic” singer ran herself at age 19. “He was 19 when I started working with him. I was like, ‘You control all of this in this amazing Southern way of being so kind and generous,’ but if he doesn’t want to talk to you, you’re not in the room and she did it like that. beautiful grace,” he recalled. “I was like, ‘Oh, I admire this woman so much.'”

However, in her memoirs, Britney stated that she was not a fan of acting after she realized that she was slipping into method acting, which became difficult for her to control. “My problem is not with anyone involved in the production but with what happened to my mind,” he wrote. “Some people do method acting, but they’re usually aware of the fact that they’re doing it. But I don’t have any separation at all. I ended up walking differently, carrying myself differently, talking differently.

Davis said that she had no idea that the “Piece Of Me” singer struggled with method acting. “You never know what’s in someone’s head. I think he’s having the best time of his life but you know that because I’ll see him smile and do that crazy funny laugh,” he said. “When he’s acting he really has to play tennis professionally and be real. It takes a lot of effort for him to do that.”

“I really admire his vulnerability. That he goes so deep and can access these emotions,” she continued. “He can be like, ‘Hey, I’m running this, and everybody’s doing what I want people to do or whatever,’ and he didn’t do it.’ But he really encouraged us all,” Davis said.
