The late actor had a distinguished Hollywood career dating back to the late 1970s, after which he rose to fame in the 1980s and 90s for his appearances on “The Tonight Show” and “Late Show With David Letterman.” However, his most notable performance was with his good friend Larry David in “Bendung Semangat Anda.”

Lewis played a fictional version of himself on the hit HBO show, which ran for 12 seasons. However, he withdrew from season 11 in 2021, citing his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis.

“Luckily I got it late in life, and they say you grow very slowly if at all and I’m on the right medication and it’s good,” Lewis said in a statement at the time. “I just want you to know that’s where it happened. I’m done with standup, I just focus on writing and acting. I have Parkinson’s disease, but I’m under the doctor’s care, and everything is fine, and I love my wife, I love my little dog, and I love all my friends and fans.”
