Customer upset with Subway order charged with battery after striking worker with sandwich

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

An angry Subway customer who was upset his sandwich wasn’t cut in half is charged with battery after allegedly throwing a submarine that struck one of the fast food chain’s employees, police said.

Alberto De Barros, 54, was arrested by police who were called to a “disturbance” at a restaurant in Stuart, Florida, shortly after 5pm on Tuesday.

Subway worker Cassandra Pierre-Louis told Martin County Sheriff’s deputies that De Barros “became upset with her after finding out her sandwich wasn’t separated,” according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun.

Following a brief argument, De Barros “began to cause a disturbing scene,” according to the affidavit.

Pierre-Louis then told De Barros that he would no longer serve him and he immediately made a phone call.

In the middle of the call “the sandwich was thrown at Ms. Pierre-Louis,” the report claims.

The sandwich hit Pierre-Louis in the “middle to lower part of the body.”

Deputies did not say what type of sandwich De Barros ordered.

As De Barros storms out of the restaurant, Pierre-Louis follows him outside and records video evidence of his behavior and his license plate.

When questioned by deputies, De Barros admitted he was “sorry that his sandwich was not cut,” but said he “believed he threw the sandwich on the counter and not Ms. Pierre Louis,” the outlet reported.
