In an exclusive with PEOPLE, the star denied the allegations against ex-husband Mike Hill. She told the publication that their separation was mutual and amicable and that “It may not seem like it when you think about divorce or the end of a relationship, but this for us is not a bad thing.”
He emphasized that it was not a tragic end for them, and that they had enough love and respect for each other, to be honest and ask difficult questions about their marriage. The actor mentions some of the questions they ask themselves are:
“Are we really happy together? How do we want to progress? And then who is brave enough and loves each other enough to make that choice together.”
Bailey added that the advantage they had was that they learned from previous relationships, such as her eight-year marriage to her first husband, Peter Thomas. The reality star cited it as an example of how they struggled a lot and made her decide that she’d rather not wait too long to leave a situation that wasn’t benefiting her in a positive way. In his words:
“We always said we never wanted to feel like we were in this for the sake of being in this. We don’t want to settle for anything less than happiness. And we’re just getting to the point where, after really evaluating it, we feel like we’re better suited to be friends than to try to force something to work that isn’t working anymore.”

When asked the main question of whether cheating was the reason, he said, “There is no cheating to my knowledge. Mike never had sex with another woman during our marriage.” Realizing that the reason is because they exceed each other.
The 55-year-old insisted they lived separately in different areas when they first got together. When they finally get married and are forced to be with each other more consistently, they discover that they are not as compatible as they first thought.
Fans of the former couple may have had a hard time getting used to the news because they are quite invested in the relationship because of the couple’s appearance on camera. The US magazine reminded followers how their relationship began when they met on Steve Harvey’s show after her divorce from Peter Thomas.
While on “Real Housewives Of Atlanta,” Bailey exclusively told the publication that he would not be the one to propose to the former “Fox” news anchor. He eventually proposed, and the two married in a lavish ceremony in 2020, surrounded by his former castmates.

By November 2021, Hill was facing cheating allegations when he was accused of sending nude photos to other women. Bailey stood by her man and said in a statement to TMZ, “We’re great. Rumors are rumours.” After seemingly making it past that hurdle, 2022 brought the end of their marriage, which they confirmed in a joint Instagram post.

Earlier this year, The Blast shared that the Alabama native revealed that they’ve had some roadblocks in their very short marriage. He admits they had a big fight even when celebrating their anniversary.
In an interview with the “Behind the Velvet Rope” podcast, he shared the story behind the tense fight on what should have been a special day. The 52-year-old said:
“Sunday was our anniversary, and then I took Monday off and had to go back to work on Tuesday. We basically live in the city and go to this great hotel that’s in the city in West Hollywood, and we just hang out, go to dinner and enjoy each other’s company.”
Continuing, he said that because of how honest they both were, the feud became quite tense until he pointed out that they probably wouldn’t last a year together. He said the issue was not malicious or dark but the result of a misunderstanding.
