Da Brat Unveils Face Of Newborn One Month Into Motherhood!

Just over a month after welcoming their first child together, Da Brat and Jesseca ‘Judy’ Harris-Dupart showed off their baby boy, True Legend.

The pop culture couple’s latest addition, who was born on July 6, gives the famous Chicago rapper her first foray into motherhood and joins Judy’s three other grown children. On Wednesday, August 9, the happy couple shared the first photo of their one-month-old bundle of joy on Instagram, and the “Funkdafied” rapper gave a meaningful comment about her motherhood journey to accompany the reveal.

Da Brat Says She’s “So Grateful” To Experience Motherhood In Newborn Reveal

The former So So Def rapper and serial entrepreneur gave fans a peek at their baby boy through a series of photos. In one upload featuring a photo shoot led by PEOPLEboth, dressed in gray loungewear, snuggled up with the baby.

The little one matched his parents with a gray hat, joggers, white shirt, and socks. The “Glitter” actress spoke to the outlet about being a mother for a month and how she feels about giving birth after a high-risk pregnancy.

In awe of what her body was doing, she said, “Look, this is coming out of my stomach. I cry every day. I just look at her and boo-hoo because I’m so grateful.” In addition to these reflections, Da Brat admits:

“I am 49 years old, I am at high risk, I have high blood pressure. A lot of women younger than me wanted children and couldn’t have them, and I managed to get pregnant. It’s just an honor. He is such a gift.”

However, the first-time mom laughingly admitted that she “never” wants to experience another birth, though she added, “For her, it was worth it.” Finally, the “Sittin’ on Top of the World” rapper ended his sit down by revealing that he lives a very different life than his “Brat-a-tat-tat” days when he said:

“Who would have thought this? Da Brat-a-tat-tat from 1994! I am with a beautiful and successful woman who completes me and inspires me to be better. I am happy to be a mother. I never thought I would be, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I don’t need anything else in life.”

Aside from their feature on the news channel, Brat and Judy posted other photos of True to delight their fans. One of them is a delivery room video, and it shows the “Ghetto Love” musician admiring her son. Viewers also get a close-up look at the little one during his first moments outside the womb. “This is in me,” Brat enthused in the caption of the post.

In another Instagram upload, the parents show baby True Legend posing with a fake boombox and microphone. The parent stated, “It was right,” referring to the choice of props. Finally, the couple displayed a photo of themselves posing with their son alongside Judy’s grown children and granddaughter, showing their entire family.

The question started when the adorable couple discussed their decision to use a white sperm donor for their baby boy. They explained how the genetic screening rejected most of the thousands of candidates they had at the start of the process.

Brat said, “We don’t have much choice; he’s not Black.” He explained that the Black man “looked like Jiminy Cricket” and added, “I was like, ‘I’m sorry, but it wasn’t my choice.’

The couple also admitted that although their donor options were limited, they made the right choice. “I think we did a great job with the pick. He’s handsome and tall, and I think he’ll look great with my wife’s eggs,” said Brat.

Later, Judy took to social media to respond to critics who said their choice meant they didn’t want black children. “Black men make up less than 5% of the donation pool,” he explained. The businessman then elaborated further that he and Brat needed to extend their decision to get more options. He wrote:

“We wait a few weeks to see if the pool rises. But unfortunately, with the time frame we had to choose between 6-8 weeks, there were no new black donors that matched my genetic testing.”
