Rapper DaBaby’s upcoming show in New Orleans was recently canceled, possibly due to record low ticket sales. The rapper has been in some controversy over the past few months since his speech at the Rolling Loud Miami festival in 2021.
The 30-year-old made homophobic and misogynistic comments but apologized for them after online backlash from fans and business partners. He was also previously caught on video trying to force an uninterested fan to kiss him.
Although the rapper’s New Orleans show was declared canceled on the Ticketmaster site, the show’s promoters claimed it was merely postponed, and that some adjustments would be made before the new date was announced.

DaBaby’s show at the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans has reportedly been cancelled. The concert is scheduled for Friday, September 2; however, on Tuesday, it was announced that he would no longer be performing following the low ticket sales recorded for the event.
The news was revealed on Tuesday when the concert’s Ticketmaster listing was deactivated. The site displays, “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.” The page also revealed that refunds for fans who have purchased tickets will be donated through the paid channel within 30 days.
Before recent developments, Nola.com revealed that the show recorded less than 500 tickets purchased for the 14,000 holding capacity venue. The tickets reportedly cost $35 per concertgoer.

Organizers Say Performance Has Been Postponed

Although Ticketmaster said the show was cancelled, concert promoters claimed it was simply moved. They revealed that they are working on new dates, most likely a new venue and a star-studded lineup of performers that could still include DaBaby.
Euell Sylvester, also known as 7th Ward Shorty and Greg Pulver, spoke about the concert, revealing that Friday’s performance was moved due to “some business reasons.” Pulver added, “We decided to delay, and it was in our best interest.”
Regarding the low number of ticket purchases shown on the Ticketmaster site, a representative of DaBaby’s booking agency, Major Artist Concerts (MAC), claimed that the site was incorrect in the numbers presented.

MAC CEO Andrew Lieber disputed assumptions that low ticket sales led to show cancellations and said more tickets were sold than the site showed.

Lieber also claims (para Nola) that it was their decision to withdraw from the event. He claimed that the organizers of the show were allegedly unable to comply with the terms of the contract. Lieber released an emailed statement that read, “DaBaby’s New Orleans show has been pulled by the artist’s team due to promoter breach of contract. DaBaby will be back in New Orleans soon to make it up to his fans.”

Pulver spoke about the breach of contract charges issued by Lieber and revealed that the information produced was false. The statement he released read, “We sincerely apologize that we must postpone the New Orleans stop of the “For The Culture” tour featuring DaBaby that was expected to take place on September 2nd. The public information released was false, and we do not allow anyone to announce cancellation of this event.”
He added that plans with Smoothie King Center and artist management have been postponed due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Pulver continued, “We are in the process of working with all parties involved to announce a future date and time.”
DaBaby Is Involved In Many Controversies

Since 2018, DaBaby has been involved in several controversies, one of which was his misogynistic and homophobic remarks at the end of the year at the Rolling Loud Miami festival.
Famous rapper shout to a group of fans, “If you’re not present today with HIV, AIDS, or any of the deadly sexually transmitted diseases that will kill you in two to three weeks, then turn your cell phone brighter … Friends , if you’re not smoking d–k in the parking lot, turn on your cell phone lighter.”
Although the rapper initially stood by his statement, DaBaby apologized for his statement statement. He also says he has no problem with the LGBTQIA+ community and claims that their business is theirs.
