The battle between the “Fashion Killa” rapper and his former A$AP MOB groupie, A$AP Relli, began in 2021. The latter claimed the father of two allegedly assaulted him with a firearm.
Last year, the case got a response in court when Rihanna’s baby daddy denied the charges. Now, the plaintiff has accused his former friend’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, of tarnishing his image with a false narrative in his client’s defense.

According to the plaintiffs, rapper A$AP Rocky’s attorney tarnished his image in his defense, painting him as a bad guy. A$AP Relli accused Tacopina of mounting a press campaign, telling various media outlets that he was a “liar, money grabber, and extortionist.”
The disgruntled artist believes the legal practitioner’s actions stemmed from Rocky’s instructions. In one of the lawyer’s interviews, the 57-year-old man declared, “Rocky did not commit a crime. It was an extortion attempt by a former associate, who threatened to make false criminal charges if Rocky didn’t pay.”
In a legal filing, Relli claimed the defamation attack made him the victim of multiple death threats. He was also fodder for the public’s amusement, claiming he suffered ridicule.
For his pain, the plaintiff sought unspecified compensation in damages. On the other hand, Rocky doesn’t seem bothered by the new suit, given his lawyer’s confidence. Former president Donald Trump’s personal lawyer claimed the defamation case was a misstep on Relli’s part.
“This is really nothing more than a publicity stunt that will backfire badly,” Tacopina said. “I very much welcome this suit, especially since the resolution of the criminal case has not happened yet.”
The attorney general did not back down from describing Relli as a money grabber and said his new lawsuit would expose his fraudulent activities. “This opens up this extortion to depositions under oath now before the resolution of the criminal case. It will reveal the fraud he committed,” Rocky’s lawyer explained.

“And unfortunately for his lawyers, it will make them liable for legal fees in this case. They do not know the facts of this case or the actions taken by their clients. But, I will be more than happy to educate them,” Tacopina concluded his message.
As noted, the legal drama between Rocky and his former friend began over the alleged 2021 shooting. Last August, the “Praise the Lord” rapper appeared in a Los Angeles court to plead not guilty to gun charges.
The New Yorker was charged with two counts of assault with a gun and accused of personally using a firearm. Relli claimed Rocky had pointed a semi-automatic handgun at him and fired the weapon at him during the confrontation.
Although the incident occurred in November 2021 for each alleged victim, he did not file charges against the “Wild for the Night” rapper until August 2022. Relli is seeking over $25k in damages and additional money for his medical bills.
