The explosive new series promises to expose the Duggar family’s dark ties to radical religious organizations, and Jill Duggar leads a witch hunt.
The second oldest daughter of the clan rose to fame alongside her siblings and parents on the TLC series, “19 Kids and Counting.” Unfortunately, the program was canceled following the Josh Duggar child pornography scandal in 2015.
During its broadcast, the show followed the lives of grown children, especially the strict teachings of decency and faith that were enforced on the children. However, an upcoming documentary claims there is a dark secret behind the moral display.
Jill Duggar Joins Other Survivors In Spilling Shocking Truth About Duggar Family’s Conservative Religious Beliefs

On May 18, Amazon Prime Video updated its YouTube page with the official trailer for their amazing documentary series, “The Shiny Happy: Duggar Family Secrets.” The two-minute clip captures an interview with former religious group member Bill Gothard.
Gothard is the founder and church leader of the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP), of which the Duggars are core members. Focusing on the disgraced minister and his organization, the post’s caption explained that the show aims to expose the truth about the Duggars’ ties to the extremist organization.
However, the documents state that their limited program is not only about revealing the dark secrets of the reality TV clan. Instead, the show hopes to reveal how the religious community is negatively impacting the lives of the Duggar family with its horrific teachings.
“As the details of their families and scandals come to light, we realize that they are part of a dangerous, much bigger threat already at hand, with democracy itself in danger,” the caption said, revealing that the upcoming series will premiere on June 2 , 2023.
“World domination is the goal,” a man says in the opening scene, followed by an old clip of the family’s heads —Jim and Michelle Duggar — promoting IBLP content in a church. “IBLP teachings are not Christianity. They are something completely different,” claimed a female speaker.
After showing a clip of Gothard claiming to have the “answers” his members needed, viewers saw an emotional Jill holding back tears during her interview. Holding hands with her husband, Derick Dillard, the 32-year-old said she was ready to share her truth.
“There’s a story to be told, and I’d rather be the one telling it,” the TV personality declared. As more allegations of Gothard’s cult-like teachings spread throughout the clip, Jill adds that her family has been a part of IBLP as early as she can remember.
Another speaker claimed, “The Institute raises little predators,” prefacing the next scene, the news anchor’s announcement of Josh Duggar’s “dark family secret” revelation. After that came more clips about the former TLC star.
One of the participants of the documentary stated that the story was more important than the TV personality, because Gothard planned to use the children involved in the IBLP to get more powerful positions through politics.
“You give these kids training and political involvement, and from there, you send them to the halls of Congress, to the White House as interns,” the woman explained. “They’re playing the long game.”
Jinger Duggar Compares Her Family’s ‘Cult-Like Religion’ To Britney Spears’ Conservatory
Jill isn’t the first Duggar to open up about the family’s strict religious practices, as her sister Jinger has been blowing the whistle for some time. Earlier in February, the 29-year-old opened up about her traumatic childhood in a candid interview.
The TV personality likened her strict upbringing to Britney Spears’ conservatorship, claiming she spent years bowing to tyrannical authorities because of Gothard’s IBLP teachings. Like Pop icons, fans support the TLC alum with the Free Jinger movement.
Regarding the hashtag #FreeJinger, the mother of two stated that she is grateful to fans for spreading her narrative. “I am not disappointed with the ‘Free Jinger’ movement. It’s a very nice person,” said the entertainer. “I’m sure the people who started it had the best intentions in mind and probably still do it today.”
Jinger who left IBLP in 2017 explained that other former followers have realized the negative effects of the minister’s teachings. As for Gothard, the “Growing Up Duggar’ co-author reveals the 88-year-old’s beliefs are based on “control.”
“He built his teachings on fear, manipulation, superstition, and control … so the way I look at God is that he’s waiting to hate me, to get me at any moment,” the 29-year-old admitted.
