Dave Chappelle poses for selfie with Reps. Lauren Boebert, Anna Luna on Capitol Hill

Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) spotted comedian Dave Chappelle hanging around the halls of Congress Thursday, and he obliged the shocked lawmakers with a selfie.

Only three people understand that there are only two sexes,” Boebert wrote on X, including a photo of him and Luna with the “Chappelle’s Show” star in the Capitol Rotunda.

“Running to @DaveChappelle,” Luna tweeted, sharing the same photo as Boebert.

“Thank you for everything you’ve done,” the Florida Republican told the comedian during the friendly meeting.

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) was also recorded greeting Chappelle and chatting with the funny man.

The comedy legend was reportedly at the Capitol for a meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus, according to Punchbowl News.

Chappelle, a resident of Washington, DC, offered a different explanation for his surprise appearance, when asked by a reporter.

“A lot of people I grew up with work on the hill, so I hang out here sometimes when I’m in DC, to catch up with old friends,” he said.

Chappelle is performing a stand-up show in DC Thursday.

The politically incorrect comedian has been criticized numerous times in his career for jokes about gays, lesbians and transgender people.

Most recently, Chappelle came under fire for accusing the US government of supporting Israeli “war crimes” against the Palestinians during an October performance in Boston.

Some in the audience walked out after Chappelle reportedly said that he didn’t think people should lose their jobs for supporting the Palestinians.
