Dave Mirra, also known as David Michael Mirra, is a BMX rider from the United States. He holds the record for most X Games medals in BMX Freestyle. He is known for his vert ramps and park riding abilities. Mirra was a member of the 2014 Race Across America winning team.

Mirra started racing at the age of 13 in 1987 when he joined the Haro Bikes BMX team. In 1989, he received sponsorship from Vision Street Wear. In 1992, he became a professional racer. It is amazing that he won a medal at the X Games every year from 1995 to 2009, totaling 24 medals until 2013, except for 2006.
He competed in rallying and rallycross as a member of Subaru Rally Team USA from 2008 to 2013. He is also interested in Ironman competition, and in March 2013, he competed in his first Triathlon. Mirra’s success prompted him to venture into fields other than cycling.
Mirra has a total of 24 X Games medals to her name. In 2005, he received the ESPY Award for Best Male Action Sports Athlete. Apart from these medals and awards, his racing record is outstanding, with outstanding results in the FIA World Rallycross Championship and the Global Rallycross Championship at both Entrant and Supercar levels. Because of the success of rider Dave Mirra, Greenville is now home to over twenty professional BMX riders.
The late Dave Mirra was inducted into the BMX Hall of Fame in Chula Vista, California. Only one rider per category is inducted into the BMX Hall of Fame each year, but Mirra received automatic induction during the voting process in March. Mirra watched as 2,500 athletes, including a friend from her hometown of Syracuse, New York, swam two laps around Mirror Lake, biked 112 miles, and completed a 26.2-mile run through the city and around the lake.
