David Beckham has revealed that he is proud of his Jewish heritage.
The multi-millionaire businessman and former football player shared recently that his grandfather made sure his family followed certain Jewish traditions, including attending a bar mitzvah.
It comes after Inter Miami co-owners signed soccer star Lionel Messi to the team despite stiff competition from Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal. He also recently marked his 24th wedding anniversary with fashion designer Victoria Beckham.

Speaking at the Lira Winston event, hosted in St. John’s Wood Synagogue, the football legend happily announced that he was “proud” of his Jewish heritage.
As part of the revelation, Beckham, who shares four children, Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 20, Cruz, 18, and daughter Harper, 11, with his wife, Victoria, noted that he has actively participated in events in their community and also uphold most of their sacred traditions.
“My grandfather always made sure we would follow certain traditions,” the Inter Miami co-owner told British producer Ben Winston during a panel at the event, per Marca. “We go to bar mitzvahs and weddings, and I’ll wear a kippah.”
He added, “Every Saturday morning, I always go to see my grandfather. You’re going to walk into my grandmother’s house making chicken soup and matzah balls and latkes.”
Beckham later expressed the importance of maintaining the tradition, saying, “It’s always about the family coming together and spending time together.”

During the event, Beckham also opened up the possibility of signing seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi for Inter Miami.
Bringing the Argentine to the Florida team has reportedly been in the works since 2019. It finally came to fruition when Messi cut ties with French league leaders Paris Saint-Germain FC at the end of the 2022–2023 season.
“My dream from a long time ago was to bring the best players in the game to Miami, wherever they are in their careers. I made that commitment to our fans,” said Beckham, who also noted that he was in Japan when the news broke.
The multi-hyphenate also mentioned that he was excited about the acquisition, describing it as a “big moment” for the club.
He added, “So when you hear that one of the best players, if not the best player, who has won everything in the game, and who is still a great player and still young and doing what he does, wants to come. playing for my team, it’s a big moment.”

Signing Messi is one of the many things Beckham is grateful for. The former Real Madrid player recently celebrated his 24th wedding anniversary with fashion designer and Spice Girl Victoria, who he married in July 1999.
In an Instagram post in the early morning hours of July 4, she shared a recent photo of them holding their two Rottweiler puppies.
He added the caption, “On today 4.7.99. 24 years and beyond. To the best wife, mummy & drinking partner (most of the time). Happy Anniversary love you so much.”
Victoria also wrote a cute message for her husband on her page, expressing her undying love for him.
“Still holding hands and still laughing (with you not just at you). I love you so much,” read the message, along with a photo of them holding hands.

During the interview, the football legend also stated that having a “strong family unit” and being “raised with the right values” helped him and Victoria get through difficult times in their marriage.
