He shared the John Cassavetes Independent Spirit Award with Gentry and Bush for The Signal in 2008. When Gentry was unable to contribute to the monstrous treasury of V/H/S (2012), he suggested Bruckner, who ended up composing and orchestrating the passage of “Amateur Hour.”
Similarly, in 2012, his short film Talk Show explored the debate on suffering in mainstream news. Bruckner was linked to the 2009 revival spin-off Friday the Thirteenth, but he reportedly dropped out in late 2015. He will direct the thriller Intrusion, written by LD Goffigan.
