Career
He spent a few days in Nashville when he was 20 years old and was encouraged to pursue a career in music. He later moved to Music City and began performing at parties. There, he attracted the daughter of record producer Keith Stegall. David got a deal with Mercury Records when he informed his father that he had talent worth listening to.
He released his debut single, “Memphis,” in 2002, and although the song charted on the Country Singles chart, Mercury chose not to release the album he recorded for them, and he quickly lost his record deal. In April 2007, he signed a contract with MCA Records Nashville. All this is made possible by publisher Frank Liddell. And “I’m About to Come Alive,” Nail’s first MCA single, came out in 2008, and it’s even better than her first single. However, the next song, ‘Red Light,’ released in February 2009, went to number seven on the country singles chart, earning Nail a gold record.
Nail made an album for MCA after the song’s success, and this time, 2009’s I’m About to Come Alive was deemed worthy of release, climbing to number 19 on the country album chart. Likewise, in February 2011, Nail released “Let It Rain,” which went on to become his first number one country song. Nail had another major hit, ‘Whatever She’s Got,’ in 2013, which won her a platinum sales award. It was his first single from his third MCA album, 2014’s I’m a Fire, which debuted at number three on the country album chart. David has released two more singles, both of which have been successful. Nail revealed a new project as frontman of David Nail & The Well Ravens in 2018. Only This And Nothing More, the band’s first album, will be released independently on September 14, 2018.
