Debshankar Haldar or Debsankar Halder is a Bengali theater and film actor. He has worked with many popular Bengali theater groups, including “Nandikar,” “Rangapat,” “Natyaranga,” “Sudrak,” “Gandhar,” “Bratyajon,” “Sansriti” and “Blank Verses.”

Debshankar Haldar was born on Friday, January 8, 1965 (age 55 years; as in 2020) in Kolkata. His zodiac sign is Capricorn. He completed his studies from the Church of Scotland College in Calcutta University. While in college, Haldar was part of Student Politics. As his father was a Bengali actor, he introduced Debshankar to the world of theatre. In 1986, he joined a workshop organized by Nandikar to learn acting. During the workshop, he got involved in acting until he decided to become a theater artist.

Career
Debshankar started his career as a theater artist in 1987 with the Nandikar theater group. As part of the Nandikar troupe, Debshankar performed plays like “Shesh Shakkhatkar,” “Gotroheen,” “Football,” “Nagar Kirtan” and “Jaha Chai.” After that, he played a lot with other theater groups, such as Winkle Twinkle (Sansriti), Virus M (Gonokrishti), Shajahan (Natyaranga), Furrut (Blank Verses), Topi (Narrator), and Romcom (Lokkrishti).
Debshankar has also appeared in many Bengali films, such as “Drishyantar,” “Kalkijug,” “Accident,” “Alik Sukh,” “Arundhati” and “Maya Mridanga.”
Apart from acting, Debshankar has also written and directed over 40 children’s plays, including “Bhalo Manush Noigo Mora.”
