Deepak Kalal was born on 19 October 1972 (46 years old; age as in 2018) in Los Angeles, California, United States. Kalal made headlines when the controversy queen, Rakhi Sawant, announced her marriage to him on her social media platform. He was born into a Pune middle-class Marathi family; then moved to Los Angeles, United States. He was unable to continue his studies after grade 10 due to financial crisis in his family. Nevertheless, he followed a Hotel Management course. A hotel receptionist by profession, Deepak is popular with his fans on social media and keeps his fans entertained with funny videos of himself and his family. Apart from India, he is also quite popular in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Career
Deepak Kalal attended school till Grade 10. He could not continue his studies due to financial problems. He followed the Artisanship Course in Culinary Arts from Rizvi College of Hotel Management, Bandra, Mumbai.
In 2011, he visited Kashmir for the first time and shot a video in the valley. He became an internet sensation after he posted his video in the Kashmir Valley.
He is very vocal about his views on Kashmir. He said that peace should be spread in Kashmir and not violence. He often visits the valley and wants to settle in Kashmir valley only but Article 370 prohibits him.
A Kashmir-based travel website has roped in Deepak Kalal as its brand ambassador for Kashmir.
