We all know that festivals play an important role in our lives because they foster a sense of humanity and brotherhood in people. The word Deepawali comes from two terms which are ‘Deep’ meaning light and ‘awali’ meaning a line.
It defines a line of lights. Before the day of Deepawali, people start preparations and every day has its own significance and rituals. Deepawali generally falls in two months of the year such as October or November. In this day and age, we see light, happiness, joy, and enthusiasm everywhere.

They welcome Goddess Mata Lakshmi to bring good luck and wealth into their lives. They pray to get the blessings of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Many people start their new business on this special day and pray for a successful year ahead.
Lamps are lit throughout the night in people’s homes because they believe that Goddess Lakshmi will come to their homes and bless them with wealth and happiness. Home and workplace look very attractive because of Rangolis and lamps.
This complete aura makes the festival even more memorable. Before a few days of Deepawali, people clean their houses and buy new things to put in their homes.
Many people like to rejoice in this festival with their loved ones such as friends, relatives, and neighbors. They all gathered in their respective places and had fun. They eat a variety of delicious dishes like Gulab Jamun, Jalebis, Kajoo Barfi, Karanji, Shakkar Pale and Kheer.
Children are also very happy on this day because they burst crackers. They keep waiting for several days to enjoy this day because they like to buy new clothes and eat new dishes.

When we hear the word Deepawali, everything is associated with bursting crackers, but it is not in the true spirit of celebration. Despite bursting crackers, the main motive of Deepawali is to spread happiness everywhere.
Of course, people break crackers because it has become a trend these days, which shouldn’t be there. The reason behind it is that broken crackers increase the chances of air pollution and polluting the environment.
Fireworks cause damage to animals in the environment. While celebrating this festival, we must think about the safety of others. This is why the government should impose a proper ban on crackers. I still remember the days when I celebrated Diwali with my family during my childhood. At that time I was interested in crackers and fireworks. But once I grew up, the meaning of celebrating Deepawali changed for me completely.
Now, I don’t like bursting crackers. I just go to my friend’s place and play cards for fun. Before leaving, my family and I worshiped for our prosperity, happiness, and wealth. My parents like to help people in need on this auspicious day.
We all visit some places in our city, where most of the poor and needy families live. We distributed some clothes, essential items, and sweets among them so that they too can enjoy this Deepawali festival with full of fun.
Undoubtedly, festivals bring reasons to smile and share our feelings and emotions with our loved ones. Deepawali is a festival that can help us collect some lifelong memories.
