A deer walks into a candy store…
It’s no joke: Customers at an old candy store in Washington watched in amazement Saturday as a deer walked in and became momentarily enamored with its candy display — maybe even swiped a butter-popcorn-flavored piece — before following it high. there again
Surveillance footage from Buddy and Howie’s Candy Shop in Ocean Shores shows an antlered deer waiting in the doorway for a moment before deciding to step inside.
He was seen sniffing at the taffy display and then cautiously walking around the aisles as shocked shoppers pulled out their phones to record the encounter.
The deer, apparently frightened, then ran out the door.
“We had a special visitor come in and see the taffy boat this morning,” store owner Jenn Strobel posted on the business’s Facebook page. “He agrees!!!”

Many community members were amused by the unexpected buyer, sharing the video with friends and family online.
“He thinks that’s why you leave the door open,” Burle Pitts commented on Facebook, claiming the deer was “finally brave enough to step in.”
