Delta flight forced into emergency landing by passenger’s diarrhea: ‘This is a biohazard’

It’s a bad situation.

A Delta flight from Atlanta to Barcelona was forced to turn around and make an emergency landing after passengers “experienced diarrhea the entire way through the plane”.

The Airbus A350 plane was two hours into a transatlantic flight from Georgia to Spain on Friday when the pilot asked to turn back due to a stool failure.

“This is a biohazard issue,” the pilot told air traffic control recorded from LiveATC.com and shared on X.

“We had a passenger who had diarrhea the whole way through the plane, so they wanted us to go back to Atlanta.”

The identity of the passengers remains a mystery, but the passengers and crew were evacuated and Flight DL194 finally made it to Barcelona at 5:10pm the next day — eight hours later than scheduled, according to Flightradar24.

It is not known if the passenger with diarrhea was on the plane when it landed in Spain.

An alleged Federal Aviation Authority flight path has been posted on Reddit, which appears to confirm the situation involved a “biodisaster” throughout the plane.

News of the ill-fated passenger accident and flight delay went viral on social media.

Cleaning crews were able to scrub the plane once it landed in Atlanta because flight records show it was used for another flight.

Delta officials confirmed there were “medical issues” with the plane and it had to be diverted to Atlanta to be cleaned, according to Insider. The company, however, did not elaborate on the medical reasons.

“Our teams are working as quickly and as quickly as possible to thoroughly clean the airplane and get our customers to their final destination,” a Delta spokesperson said. “We apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans.”

Delta passengers had a rough week in the air— another flight en route to Milan, Italy, was forced to divert to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Aug. 29 when it experienced severe turbulence, injuring 11 passengers.
