This comes two years after she ended her relationship with her ex-fiancé following their quick hookup that led to an engagement just four months after they started dating. Their romance, unfortunately, doesn’t last long until they finally break it off, which is a bit of a mess given Ehrich’s display of depression.

Before the end of 2020, Lovato was single again while her ex was on the beach in Malibu making a tearful display with the media. About a year later, she opened up about the relationship, revealing that living through the epidemic was an important factor in the journey, given that she began identifying as non-binary earlier that year.

At the same time, she met Ehrich and had a great straight relationship but it made her ignore a part of herself that she thought was not “easily digestible” for her partner at the time. The “Camp Rock” star admitted, “In retrospect, the dissolution of the relationship was actually probably the best thing that happened to me, because of what it led to for myself.”

She feels empowered to stand on her own after the end of the relationship and without needing others to validate or make her feel accepted. Lovato later explained, “When I said goodbye to that relationship, I also said goodbye to everything that kept me from being my most authentic self.”

Postponing the engagement was definitely a healthy decision, leading her to become a new person who is more confident in herself and her music. She also re-identified herself after being with “them/them” for over a year, given the balance she felt with her masculine and feminine energies.
