Demi has opened up about her difficult childhood and teenage years, plagued by bulimia. Now healthy and living a balanced lifestyle, Demi has had a chance to reflect on her struggles. In 2019, the same year her bikini selfie was shared, she said Teen Vogue:
“I used to look in the mirror if I was having a bad body image day and say, ‘I love my body, you are beautifully made and amazing.’ But I don’t believe it.”
