The Virginia Democrat exposed for filming sex acts online for tips failed to win a race for the Commonwealth House of Representatives — but narrowly lost to a rival he accused of leaking about his sideshow.
Nurse practitioner Susanna Gibson, 40, was beaten by Republican businessman David Owen on Tuesday – but by less than 1,000 votes.
It is one of the most watched races in the commonwealth, in which Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin is trying to retain the House of Representatives and change control in the state senate to enact a 15-week abortion ban.
Gibson’s candidacy gained national attention in September when it was revealed she hosted more than a dozen live fights with her husband on the adult streaming website Chaturbate.
The video was posted to a publicly accessible archive on the Recurbate website in September 2022 after he announced his candidacy, the Washington Post first revealed.

Gibson also appears to have maintained her Chaturbate profile after announcing her campaign in July 2022, uploading at least one photo of herself on the sex-streaming site the following month, according to screenshots obtained by The Post.
The unconventional candidate has more than 5,770 Chaturbate followers, who he repeatedly demands more “tokens” in exchange for certain actions in “personal” shows – adding that he is “raising money for a good cause.”
Following the report, Gibson slammed his political rivals for engaging in dirty politics.

He called the controversy “an illegal invasion of my privacy designed to embarrass me.”
“My political opponents and their Republican allies have proven they are willing to commit sex crimes to attack me and my family because there is no line they will not cross to silence women when they speak out,” Gibson told CNN in a statement.
“My opponent and his allies know that the people of this district are on our side on this issue, so they submit to the worst politics,” he added.
“There is too much at stake in this election and I will not stop fighting for our community.”

Owen has repeatedly declined to comment on the situation, saying he had nothing to do with the leak and was focusing on his own campaign.
“As far as whether it disqualifies him or not, that’s up to the voters in that district,” he told NBC 12.
After that, Gibson’s fundraising totals soared, but his support slipped among voters — with a Cygnal poll showing him trailing Owen by 49.5% to 38.9%.
As the race neared, the Virginia GOP sent out a mailer including a screenshot of Gibson’s live stream video, which read, “Warning: Explicit material included” and “Do not open if you are under 18,” NBC News reported.

Gibson’s campaign immediately condemned the Republican party for sending out the flyer.
“David Owen and the Virginia GOP are trying to distract voters from their entire agenda to ban abortion, defund schools, and allow violent criminals access to weapons of war,” he said in a statement.
“Voters are tired of this desperate attack, and they will not be fooled by it,” the statement continued, noting “nothing will stop [Gibson’s] commitment to our community.”
