Ron DeSantis showed off a pair of his … golf balls Thursday and questioned whether Donald Trump has the “balls” to enter next week’s third Republican presidential debate.
In a flurry of merchandise, the DeSantis campaign began selling golf balls with the slogan, “Ron DeSantis has a pair — he shows up” in direct mockery of the GOP front-runner.
The Sunshine State governor also shrugged off the recent uproar over his boots and promised to wear them on his head if the former president “can summon the balls to show up to the debate.”
“This is not the time to save legs. We have serious problems as a country,” DeSantis told Newsmax’s “The Balance” Thursday afternoon, citing examples such as the border and the war in Israel.
“I know Donald Trump and a lot of his people have focused on things like shoes. I will tell you this. You know, if Donald Trump can call the ball to show up to the debate, I’ll have boots on my head,” he said.

“This is a time for substance. This is a time for us to debate the issues that matter to the American people. And the question is whether you can fight for them.”
The Trump campaign quickly responded.
“Rob DeSanctimonious has been completely blacked out for wearing high heels and is now a political eunuch. He’s the last person who should be talking about football,” Jason Miller, Trump’s senior adviser told The Post in response.
Trump, who famously likes to swing golf balls at his various luxury resorts, thinks a debate candidate polling far below him isn’t worth his time.
He has a 45.9% lead over DeSantis, his closest rival, in the latest RealClearPolitics polling aggregate.
Currently, he looks set to lead a rally in Hialeah, Fla. nearby on November 8, not far from where the third GOP is scheduled to take place at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Miami.
The two campaigns have traded similar quips in the past.

“No wonder Ron DeSantis is looking for a set of balls,” Chris LaCivita, a senior Trump campaign adviser, told NBC News in June, drawing a response from DeSantis’ world.
Some of the former president’s allies also openly took aim at DeSantis’ masculinity, christening him, “Tiny D.”
During the 2016 election cycle, Trump appeared to field questions about his own manhood from another Florida Republican — Sen. Marco Rubio.
“He refers to my hand, [suggesting] if they’re small, something else must be small,” Trump quipped at the debate during a riff on Rubio.
“I guarantee you will have no problem,” added the future 45th president. “I guarantee.”

Recently, the Trump camp has focused on the question of whether DeSantis wore height enhancers on his shoes to make him appear taller.
“No no. It’s just an amazing standard Lucchese boot,” DeSantis told host Patrick Bet-David on the “PBD Podcast” when asked about the internet outcry about him wearing lifts.
Trump went wild on Truth Social late last month, posting a triptych image of DeSantis and his shoes during the governor’s appearance on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
“Tell me she’s not wearing hidden heels,” the caption said.
A Trump-aligned super PAC, Make America Great Again Inc., also grilled DeSantis Wednesday with plans to present him with a pair of Puerto Rican-themed boots as an early Christmas present.
That doubled as a jab accusing him of supporting statehood for Puerto Rico.

But DeSantis is working to finish the hit below the belt and draw Trump into a verbal duel.
“This is a time for us to debate issues that are important to the American people,” DeSantis continued in the Newsmax interview.
“And the question is are you able to fight for them, which we have done in Florida, are you able to win that fight, which we have been able to do in Florida, and are you able to lead to a better tomorrow?”
The Sunshine State governor has accused Trump of launching an “underground campaign” strategy that mirrors President Biden’s in 2020.
The DeSantis campaign also recently launched an “accident tracker” to keep a log of the former president’s remarks and glaring mishaps on the campaign trail.
