Dharmanna Kadur is an Indian actress who works in the Kannada film industry. He is known for playing comedy roles in Kannada films such as Rama Rama Re… (2016), Mugulu Nage (2017), Man of the Match (2022), and Rajayoga (2023).

Dharmanna Kadur was born on Wednesday, 8 February 1984 (age 40 years; in 2024) in Kadur, a Taluk in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka. His zodiac sign is Aquarius. He attended the Government Junior College (GJC), Kadur. He grew up watching plays in his hometown and developed a passion for performing arts and theater in childhood. Recalling the same in an interview, he said,
I have grown up watching all night dramas in my hometown. My father and aunt would sing kolata and sobana padagalu. In school, I have acted in many dramas like Kuvempu ‘Jalagara’, ‘Kalki’, and ‘Ondu Bogase Neeru’.”
He will see films featuring veteran comedians Anant Nag and Shashi Kumar like Gauri Ganesha (1991) and Policena Hendthi (1990). During his school days, Dharmanna was the class clown who made everyone laugh by mimicking various actors. Dharmanna and Kannada actor Nataraj were classmates at Kadur. Later, both trained under veteran actor TS Nagabharana. He pursued his graduation in Kannada elective at Kuvempu University in Kadur (2002-2005) and obtained his MA in Journalism in Kannada through distance learning.

Career
Dharmanna Kadur started his journey as an actor along with actor c0 Nataraj and director D Satya Prakash. The association of Dharmanna, Satya Prakash and Nataraj goes back to the days before Rama Rama Re… (2016). They were classmates at Kadur and worked together in the theater for almost eight years. Later, Nataraj and Dharmanna were also trained under veteran actor TS Nagabharana. Eventually, they separated and found their own way to explore the sandalwood. Talking about their friendship in an interview, Kadur said,
Dharmanna honed her acting skills working as a theater artist at the Guru Institute in Hubli, Karnataka, under Yashwanth Sardeshpande’s drama troupe. His various dramas include All the Best, Sahi ri Sahi, Hingadra Dot Comedy, and Ondu Aata Bhattaraddu.
In 2013, he starred in Daali Dhananjaya’s short film, Jayanagara’s 4th Block, which went viral when it premiered on YouTube. The screenplay was written collaboratively by Dhananjaya, Sathya Prakash, and Nataraj. “Jayanagara 4th Block” marks the acting debut of Dhananjaya, Nataraj, Dharmanna, and Bimbashree Ninasam, while also serving as Sathya Prakash’s first directorial project. Later, he appeared in the short film I Love You. Despite a solid foundation, acting in front of the camera was not easy for Dharmanna. In an interview, he spoke about the shooting of his debut film, Rama Rama Re… (2016), and said,
I wasted half a day for one shot on my first day in the making of ‘Rama Rama Re’. I told Satya not to waste his time and asked him to replace me. He showed faith in me and once I hit my shot, there was no looking back.”
In 2016, Dharmanna Kadur came into limelight with her debut Kannada film Rama Rama Re… in which she played the role of Dharma, sharing the screen with Nataraj. The film is directed by D Satya Prakash. Dharmanna wins hearts with his timing, body language and dialogue delivery.
In 2018, he received an award in the “Best Comedian” category for his role in Rama Rama Re…(2016) at the Radio City Cine Kannada Awards by Radio City 91.1FM.
She gained popularity for playing Gopi, Pulakeshi’s friend, in the romantic comedy film Mugulu Nage (2017). In 2019, he appeared in the films Lambodara, Striker, Padde Huli, and Kannad Gothilla. In 2021, he starred in the movie Sakath. Other Kannada films in which he appeared in 2021 are Inspector Vikram and Madhagaja.
In 2022, he gained popularity for appearing in D. Satya Prakash’s satirical black comedy film Man of the Match where he played a fictional version of himself. The film is an experimental venture where Satya Prakash uses a film-within-a-film narrative.
In 2023, he made his debut as a hero with the Kannada film Rajayoga in which he played the role of Pranesh, who lost his mother as a child and faced abuse from his superstitious father for being born at the wrong time. Kadur is also the co-producer of the film.
