His journey as a basketball player started because of his brother. His brother had seen the film Space Jam (1996) when Dhruv was in school. His older brother started playing basketball and he also started playing after watching him. He was 6 years old when he started playing basketball. As a child, he also played football and cricket but eventually decided to pursue basketball. He went on to play at the state level and won a gold medal in the 9th standard. His basketball team in Delhi was the best and won almost all the basketball tournaments. He continued to play as a national player but could not due to certain political issues. After that, he went to Canada and later formed his own team. He leads the league in 3 points. He came back to India in 2017 and played and won the 3BLeague and then he decided to stay in India and play further. He is ranked 1 FIBA 3×3 player in India. He has been endorsed by Puma and he is the global star of Redbull for India. In 3Bleague season 2, he became the most valuable player in round 2. Before 2019, he was a member of Delhi Hoopers team. Delhi Hoopers are the dominant team in Season 1 of 3X3BL, which is India’s first professional 3×3 basketball league. They won five out of six rounds in Season 1 and consistently appeared in various World Tour Masters events. Their excellent performance even earned them a place to represent the league in the World Tour held in Beijing. He is also part of the Pro 3X3 Basketball League.
