Is This Why Lizzo Quit Music?

Lizzo appeared since the dancer's lawsuit to attend the premiere of Beyoncé's star-studded filmMEGA

In short, the words of lawyer Ron Zambrano to the US media about his role in the event may have prompted Lizzo’s decision to quit music.

“It’s a shame that Lizzo would be chosen to preside over an event like this amid such horrendous allegations. Not being involved in politics, I can’t imagine why anyone would want Lizzo to represent them in any way, given his reprehensible behavior. It’s just a that’s horrible. look.”

Lizzo also received criticism after she presented SZA with the award for Best R&B Song at the Grammy Awards last month.

The onstage interaction between the musical powerhouses appears to have caused displeasure among lawyers representing Neama Rahmani, a former backup dancer for the “About D—Time” artist.

According to The Blast, Rahmani claimed that she considered the Michigan native’s appearance at the event a case of female privilege and double standards.

Rahmani argued that if a white man faced the same accusations of sexual harassment, racism, and shaming, they would not receive the same leniency as Lizzo.

Meanwhile, Zambrano also spoke in August 2023 when he learned of Lizzo’s intention to counter-suit his client’s sexual harassment claim.

Attorneys, who represent the singer’s former dancers — Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, stated at the time:

“Lizzo’s threat to retaliate for malicious prosecution is a sneaky attempt to intimidate and cast a chilling effect on all victims of workplace harassment.”

Zambrano asserted that the tactics used by the team representing Lizzo reflected typical behavior seen in the entertainment industry, such as “intimidation tactics, bullying and victim shaming.” Chairman of Employment Litigation at West Coast Trial Lawyers added:

“His team is just trying to suppress the truth and hide his hypocrisy to publicize his brand as one of empowerment and body positivity while personally disempowering women.”

Lizzo and her group, Big Grrl, denied all the allegations made by the former trio of backup dancers mentioned above.

The plaintiffs allege harassment while they were working and touring with the rapper, including during his reality television show “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrls” in 2021 and his “Special” tour.

Judge Epstein detailed his decision in a 34-page order, explaining why he granted some of Lizzo’s requests and denied others. Additionally, the “UglyDolls” voice actress also requested a jury trial in the matter.
