Sean “Diddy” Combs is no longer the chairman of Revolt. The music mogul has stepped down from the post following a recent sexual assault lawsuit against him.
One of the lawsuits, filed by a former beneficiary of his music label, was settled out of court for an undisclosed fee. Meanwhile, Diddy’s rep has stated that the other lawsuit is based on “fictitious” claims and is intended to rip off the hip-hop legend.
Why Diddy Step Down From His Post

According to reports, Diddy has stepped down as chairman of Revolt, the digital cable television network specializing in music, which he founded in 2013. Revolt is recognized for popular shows like “State of the Culture” and “Revolt Black News.”
The announcement follows a recent sexual assault lawsuit filed against Diddy by R&B singer Cassie, also known as Casandra Ventura. Cassie was previously signed to Diddy’s record label, Bad Boy, and rose to fame under the music company.
Meanwhile, the reason behind Diddy’s decision remains unclear, as he has not discussed the matter publicly. Speculation suggests that he may take time to deal with the fallout from the Cassie case, which was recently settled out of court. Also, it is possible that the company’s board of directors advised him to make this decision.
Cassie Sues Music Mogul

As reported by Explosion, Cassie has filed a 35-page complaint in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. In this document, she outlines the incidents of physical assault, sexual abuse and coercive control tactics she experienced under Diddy.
One of the incidents she’s talking about in the lawsuit reportedly happened during Paris Fashion Week in 2011. She claims Diddy found an email between her and musician Kid Cudi, and in a fit of rage, lashed out at her with a manual corkscrew. Despite managing to escape and seek refuge at Cudi’s residence, he was allegedly forced to return home by Diddy’s representatives.
Elsewhere in the suit, Cassie also claims that Diddy hit her in a hotel suite during Paris Fashion Week in 2015 and tried to hide the assault by forcing her to wear makeup.
Cassie & Diddy Opt For Settlement

Contrary to expectations of a protracted legal dispute, many were surprised when Cassie suddenly chose to withdraw the case just a day after it was filed, opting instead to reach a settlement with Diddy.
Afterward, Diddy issued a statement, saying that they had “decided to resolve this amicably,” per Explosion. His statement was followed up by another of his lawyers, Ben Brafman, to clear up any misconceptions that the music mogul is guilty of the allegations.
The lawyer said, “Just so we’re clear, the decision to settle the lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing. Mr. Combs’ decision to settle the lawsuit in no way affects his outright denial of the claim. He is glad they were able to reach a mutual solution and wishes the best for Ms. Ventura.”
Cassie also released a statement explaining why she would not pursue the case. He said, “I have decided to resolve this amicably on the condition that I have some level of control. I would like to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
Diddy Is Still Involved In Another Sexual Violence Lawsuit

Despite reaching a resolution with Cassie, Diddy’s problems are far from over. The music mogul is now facing two more lawsuits from women he may have interacted with in the past.
One of them, identified as Joi Dickerson-Neal, claims in her lawsuit that Diddy “deliberately drugged” her, sexually assaulted her, videotaped her, and shared the tapes with others when she attended dinner with him after appearing in one a music video.
Another individual, who is now unidentified, also claimed she was raped by Diddy and singer Aaron Hall in Diddy’s apartment between 1990 and 1991.
Meanwhile, both claims from the woman have been dismissed as “fabricated” by Diddy’s spokesperson. The spokesperson also stated that it was “nothing but a cash grab” due to Diddy’s fame and success.
