Film Career
He started his career with the movie “Chalat Musafir Moh Liyo Re (2006)” as a supporting actor along with Kalpana Patowary and Sunil Chhaila Bihari.
He appeared as the lead actor in “Nirahua Rikshawala (2008)” with Pakhi Hegde; the film turned out to be a massive blockbuster at the box office.
His first singing debut was with the song “Nirahua Phir Se Aail Ba Darbar E Mai.”
He got recognition from the songs “Budhwa Mein Dum Ba” and “Malai Khaye Budwa” in 2001. Dinesh Lal Yadav has given successful hit films like Nirahua Hindustani (2014), Patna Se Pakistan (2015), Nirahua Hindustani 2 (2017) , Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi (2016), and Border (2018). Nirahua made her digital debut with the Bhojpuri web series “Hero Vardiwala” in 2019.

Dinesh Lal Yadav is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He joined the BJP in March 2019 in the presence of Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow.

He was pitted against Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav from Azamgarh constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections and lost. In June 2022, he won the Lok Sabha bypoll from Azamgarh constituency after defeating his nearest rival Dharmendra Yadav of the Samajwadi Party by 8,679 votes.
Controversy
- Controversy arose during the release of the multi-starrer Bhojpuri film “Border (2018)” featuring Dinesh Lal Yadav, when a journalist named Shashikant Singh criticized Nirahua and the film. The journalist also claimed that locals watched Border only because tickets for Khesari Lal Yadav’s film “Dulhan Ganga Paar Ke (2018)” were not available. Dinesh, who seemed surprised by the journalist’s post, even shared a screenshot of the journalist’s post asking for the support of his audience. Also, not only Bhojpuri celebrities but Bollywood personalities like Rohit Shetty, Ranveer Singh, Riteish Deshmukh, and Boman Irani lent their support to the film.
- In 2017, when Dinesh Lal Yadav went to London to attend the Bhojpuri Film Festival. Nirahua reportedly misbehaved with a flight attendant under the influence of alcohol. Another star traveling with him helped solve the case with the offended woman. The woman decided not to take the case to the police after receiving an apology from Nirahua.
- It was on the sets of Bigg Boss Season 6 that Dinesh Lal Yadav and Imam A Siddique, a fashion stylist and reality TV personality had a fight. Dinesh Lal Yadav, Imam A Siddique, and Aashka Goradia live in a rural house. Aashka makes a comment about Imam, which leads to a fight between the trio. The priest made a big mess, and was finally kicked out of the house. Dinesh Lal Yadav then said that he had never seen anyone like Imam and if he would have stayed a little longer in Big Boss, Dinesh would have killed Imam.
