Warwick, who once joked about being Twitter’s CEO, now voiced his desire to talk about app changes with Musk, particularly his latest plan to remove blocking features.

The “Walk On By” singer wanted to chat with Musk and talk about his intentions on Monday, September 4 at the release party for Todd Hunt’s “Postcards from Brazil, Volume 2” at Urban Press Winery, Burbank, California.

He commented on the billionaire’s plan to remove the X-blocking feature: “I haven’t spoken to the young man yet, and I intend to because I’m not sure what he’s doing or if he knows what he’s doing. So until that happens, I will reserve my answer to that question.”
Fans got word of the upcoming changes to the X blocking feature when Musk responded to the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley post on Friday, September 1. “Is there a reason to block vs mute someone?” the post read, and he replied, “Block will be removed as a ‘feature’, except for DMs.”
The 52-year-old investor did not give a reason for the update or when users should expect it. However, in a follow-up tweet, he mentioned that the mute function will remain.
Warwick, who is featured on “New Beginnings” on Hunt’s new record, stated that she was determined to meet Musk, telling People Magazine, “I have to meet him. I know a lot of people have left Twitter. That’s before knowing exactly what he’s going to do . He’s new to the game.”
He added that while the SpaceX CEO’s attitude is “freedom of speech,” there are “ways to do it.” This was one of those conversations he was hoping to have with her. “What is your real intention?” he said of the question he planned to ask. “I understand your stance on free speech, but how are you going to curb it so it doesn’t get out of hand?”
His announcement comes about four months after Musk confirmed his resignation as CEO of X and revealed his successor would be a woman. He shared in a tweet, “Excited to announce that I have a new CEO for X/Twitter. He’ll be starting in ~six weeks! I’ll be transitioning to executive chairman & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysop.”

Before that, Musk used a poll on X to ask users if he should step down as head of the company. Unsurprisingly, more than half of users voted for his resignation.
The X Corp chairman followed the will of the voters, maintaining that he would only bow out “as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take the job!” He eventually found the right person for the job but did not reveal his name, prompting X users, including Warwick, to mock the hiring.
The 82-year-old joked that he would be the new CEO, writing on Twitter, “I’m excited to officially take over as CEO of Twitter. This has been in the works for months.”
