Disney is temporarily closing its iconic attraction, the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland.
The closure, which occurred earlier this week, stems from previously announced plans for renovations and additions at the California park’s spooky attraction.
“The Haunted Mansion is currently closed for renovations,” the entertainment giant said Tuesday on the attraction’s website. “Please check back here for updates.”
As part of the renovations, Disney said in August it would expand the outdoor queue of rides to “engage guests in enhanced themes.”
This in part required the addition of a new greenhouse and garden based on the characters associated with the Haunted Mansion.
Guests will be able to enjoy views of the park’s special gazebos, fountains and landscaping, according to Disney.

Near the exit, Disney plans to build a grocery store in the style of a carriage house.
The attraction known for its Doom Buggies will also have an elevator exit added to improve its accessibility, Disney said.
Disney said in August it would provide “more on final arrangements” for Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion in early 2024. FOX Business reached out to the company for additional comment on the project.

Disneyland and other Disney domestic parks and experiences generated $5.38 billion in the fourth quarter.
Overall, its Experience segment earned $8.16 billion in that time frame.
In September, Disney said it unveiled plans to increase its investment in parks and experiences around the world, saying its capital spending on the effort would reach $60 billion over a decade.
