Divya completed her schooling from TVS Matriculation High School, Madurai. After that he completed his engineering degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science from Rajasthan. She also won the Tamil Nadu State Education Excellence Award in 1999. Divya has always been passionate about arts and cultural programmes.

Divya started her authorship with the film Five Star in her college days. After entering the film industry Divya has changed her name to Kaniha. After completing his college education he acted as lead actor in kannada movie Annavaru in 2004. Then he has done so many movies in tamil industry and also part of many tv series in TV Industry. Divya also won the best actress award for her performance. In 2010 He was also nominated for South Film fare award for best actor.
