Doctors discover ‘remarkable’ evidence that G-spot exists: new study

Get ready for some awesome orgasms, ladies and gentlemen.

After years of debate about its existence, doctors now think they have found definitive proof that the elusive G spot is very real indeed.

A team of researchers in Turkey think they have confirmed the so-called erogenous zone located a few inches into the vagina, as detailed in a new study published in the European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology.

They found that women experienced fewer orgasms and less intense orgasms after surgery to an area long thought to contain the G spot.

The researchers tracked the sexual function of 89 patients who underwent anterior colporrhaphy surgery, a reconstructive procedure to repair a weakness in the front wall of the vagina that causes the bladder to prolapse.

Anterior wall prolapse occurs when too much pressure is placed on the pelvic floor muscles that hold the bladder, uterus and bowels in place, and can be caused by childbirth, heavy lifting, coughing or constipation.

Patients – aged 24 to 62 who underwent surgery between May and December 2021 – completed the “Pelvic Organ Prolapse/Urinary Incontinence Sexual Questionnaire” before and six months after surgery to determine how their sexual function was affected.

Although arousal and libido remained the same after the operation, “we found a remarkable decrease in orgasm in this patient” after the operation, the study authors wrote, indicating that the G spot was damaged during the operation.

Pain during intercourse also increased after surgery, the authors said.

The anterior wall of the vagina, said to be home to the hot G, swells during arousal and is believed to play a role in orgasm.

However, researchers disagree on its size, location and name, some claiming the term is misleading.

Last year, a study called for the erogenous hot spot, first discovered by German gynecologist Ernst Gräfenberg, to be renamed the “G zone” because of its different functions, triggers and locations that vary from person to person.

However, other studies have suggested the G-spot is false after researchers failed to find an anatomical structure that could be identified as the pleasure center, causing it to be close to the clitoris.

Meanwhile, others hypothesize that the G-spot is simply an extension of the clitoris, which was once believed to consist only of a raisin-sized bundle of external nerves.

The so-called pleasure center has been hotly debated for years in the medical literature.xy – stock.adobe.com

Famous sex therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer once praised attempts to debunk the mythical place of the G, saying evidence that it might not exist “removes stress and anxiety” from women who have difficulty finding it on their own.

Meanwhile, the Turkish research team behind the new study noted that they only monitored the patients for six months after the surgery – so longer-term studies are needed to confirm their findings.
