In a recent but now deleted Tweet, Doja Cat slammed all her fans who call themselves Kittenz, writing, My fans don’t call themselves s—. If you call yourself a ‘cat’ or a f—ing ‘kittenz,’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents run the house.”
This comes just a day or two after he recently tweeted how excited he is about his tour and how much he loves his fans.

Fans were shocked by his sudden “roughness” as many wondered what had happened to him, while others felt he was unworthy of their devotion.
When a fan with the account name ‘thekittenzweb’ asked for an explanation, wondering why they had to change their “fanname” just because he didn’t like it, the artist replied bluntly: “Just delete the whole account and rethink everything. It’s not never late.”

Some of his supporters felt, “He’s going through something, obviously. I hope he gets the peace he needs.”
More support came from other Twitter users who felt, “Actually he’s not mocking anyone who is a fan. He told Stan culture to get a new hobby. Because let’s be real, they’re the only odd job that refers to themselves as a fan club name. And he is not wrong. Stan’s obsessive behavior is strange and dangerous to mental stability.”

The controversy didn’t stop there as Doja Cat increasingly distanced herself from her fans. When a fan with the Twitter handle, ‘doja.cat.iran’, asked Doja Cat to stop this and instead express his love to his fans, as he often does, the rapper was brutal in his response, “I don’t know because I don’t know you all.”
Things unraveled further when another Twitter user tried to tell Doja Cat off, saying that he shouldn’t have done this because his fans have always supported him through thick and thin. But it seems the rapper was in the mood as he responded with a scathing, “No one forced you [I don’t know] why are you talking to me like you’re my mother, you’re like a crazy person.”
The fallout continued with more and more fans feeling that he was basically insulting the people who put his name on the line as comments continued, such as “Dismissing your fans who buy and stream your songs that keep you working as an artist is not a good look at all.”

Some fans said it was the right thing to do, saying, “Great. he’s mean, insufferable, entitled, and ungrateful lately.”
Others felt he was doing the right thing, “We should applaud Doja Cat for fighting back against the para-social behavior that is so prevalent today, even if it involves personal cost to himself.”
