Country music icon Dolly Parton’s Christmas special will feature a stellar ensemble of guest stars, including Miley Cyrus, Jimmy Fallon, Billy Ray Cyrus and Willie Nelson, among a few others.
The movie “Mountain Magic Christmas,” which Parton had been working on for a while, was written by David Rambo and produced by Billy Levin. Parton, Hudson Hickman, and Sam Haskell will serve as executive producers of the film.
Although there is no premiere date yet, it is thought to be released sometime between Christmas and Thanksgiving.

follow Many people, NBC announced that Parton’s upcoming Christmas event will feature guest stars such as Billy Ray Cyrus, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmie Allen, Miley Cyrus, Willie Nelson and Zach Williams. Parton is also said to appear in the film alongside Ana Gasteyer, Tom Everett Scott, and Angel Parker.
The movie musical “Mountain Magic Christmas” has been described as “a modern-day musical about the making of a TV network special.”

“It will depict the behind-the-scenes trajectory of Dolly’s desire to lift the spirits of a weary world by sharing the unique ‘mountain magic’ she always finds in and around Dollywood at Christmas.” The musical will focus on Parton as she pursues several showbiz projects and eventually explores “a personal journey into her past, guided by the mysterious appearance of her personal Three Wise Men.”

Description for Christmas special per Deadlinestates that, “When it’s time for her special to air, a renewed and inspired Dolly goes rogue and shows the world that the true magic of Christmas lies in the hearts of the children we all were, the realization that Christmas is about the people we share it with, and how his faith remains the common thread between Christmas past, present and future.”

Dolly Parton Signs Deal With NBC

Parton’s “Magic Mountain Christmas” is the star’s third collaboration with NBC. The collaboration resulted from a development deal he signed with the network to create a TV series based on stories, songs and “inspiring lives.”
The first series under the deal was “Coat of Many Colors,” released in 2015, and its sequel “Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love,” released in 2016. He also performed “I Will Always Love You” and “Coat of Many Colors” at the network presentation.
The 2020 country music star, musical drama, “Christmas on the Square,” took home two Emmy awards. One for Outstanding Television Movie and the other for Outstanding Choreography For Scripted Programming.

Jimmy Fallon Expresses His Gratitude For Being Part Of The Movie
Following the guest star announcement, Fallon took to his Instagram with some photos from the film set and expressed how grateful he was to be in the cast of the Christmas project.
The photo features Fallon and Parton sitting in the director’s chair, as the television host laughs as the country singer talks to him. Other pictures show the host walking around the set, filming different scenes of the movie.
“I don’t need an excuse to hang out [Dolly Parton] and ate some Tennessee BBQ, but this trip was extra special,” she captioned the post.
She continued, “I’m so excited to kick off the holidays at Dollywood for Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas – this holiday season on [NBC].”
Dolly Parton Will Team Up With Kelly Clarkson For New Duet

As reported by ExplosionParton will team up with Kelly Clarkson for a new version of her hit song “9 to 5,” due September 9.
“I’m so excited to finally announce the new version of ‘9 to 5’ that I recorded with the legend [Dolly Parton] coming out on September 9th!! Thank you, [ShaneMcAnally]to make this dream a reality and put this project together,” Clarkson shared on her Instagram alongside a photo of the two stars.

Country singer Shane McAnally also shared the news of the duet on his Instagram page. She wrote, “A few years ago, my friends Gary & Larry called me about a documentary they were making about 40 years since the movie “9 to 5” was released and its impact on women’s rights issues. There was an idea to reimagine the song “9 to 5” and they asked if I’d be interested in working on it. I have worked with [Dolly Parton] on “Forever Country” and the possibility of working with him again seemed too good to be true…”
